Well, not really. I just wanted to talk about some of the pathetic cries for attention on this site in the Arrivals/Departures.
Arrivals, well...that's not a big deal really. Everyone has a right to introduce themselves to the forums. Greetings are very important.
However it is the departures which annoy me and a few others. A bunch of attention seeking teenage drama queens who can't bear it that no one has paid attention to them on the site.
Said people also seem to be the ones who annoy most people or really have no clue as to their own insignificance in the world around them. The sooner they lose this desperate need for people to look at them and talk about them all the time, the better for both themselves and everyone else.
If you're really going to leave the site, leave forever, or at least a very long time. I think it's stupid to hear, 'Oh I'll be gone for two days on a school trip' or some crap like that. If you need to go, go! You don't have to announce it like it's breaking news. You said yourself you're only gone two days or whatever, go and then come back. You don't have to waste forum space with an entire thread devoted to your brief departure. It'll live for what? Two days until you come back? Then it becomes dead space.
Same goes for the countless 'I'm back' threads. If you were only gone for a few days, don't waste our time telling us you're back, we'll be able to see it when you post.
If you're going to be gone several years or several months, then that's different and I think it warrants it's own thread because let's face it, THAT is a long time. If you're going away for the weekend to you grandma's place and she doesn't have internet, you don't have to say goodbye, we know you're coming back!
As for the drama queens who say they're going to quit. QUIT! Go away! There's nothing more pathetic than a person who makes a song and dance about leaving, then ends up staying anyway. What a lame excuse to gauge how many people like you or want to make you feel good and want you to stay on the forums.
If you really are going to go, then go. And whilst you're at it, delete your account to show that you truly are gone. Or maybe you don't have the balls to do so? Most that do this don't anyways.
If you really are going to say goodbye forever, make sure it is just that, forever. Humility, courtesy and common sense go a long way, grow up.
Sorry for the trouble, but I found this to be a real pain.
