Seriously.... my grandmother doesn't like fantasy in general, hell she used to think Pokemon and Yugioh was demonic... but now since I'm older, I found how ridiculous that movie was.. Thank God my grandmother is clueless as to what anime is... Dude =D I was raised up with my dad [may he burn in hell now =3] being just like that =D I had to sneak in HP books and read them in the dead of night by flashlight :zaru:

My mom doesn't care as long as I don't let my imagination get ahead of me.

Uh, no.
Any credited literary critic, or any professional worth his pants will tell you that although Twilight is good, it is flawed, and Harry Potter is much better.

Twilight at least stayed accurate to the book mostly, Harry potter movies go through the first 200 pages in the first 10 minutes of the movie, even then they don't stay accurate half of the time
Xaotl, whats this one way you speak of?

Oh wait, we're talking movies? *facepalm*
Ignore everything I said. Both movies suck. Harry Potter because they didn't stay with the book, Twilight because the director just didn't do good.

ANY Movie will suck in comparison to the book. Just try to think of them as their own storyline, don't compare them to the books all the time.

R U kidding? The Film style says Vampire all over it, gloomy, cloudy, and a blueish-white aura.

^ how much money a movie makes never neccesarily proves whether it's good or not.
That said, the Harry Potter movies are great, in my honest opinion. If you forget about the books and go in from a strictly film-goer's standpoint, they're wonderful. If you, on the other hand, sit there thinking "zomg no! they changed this and this and this and this", whilst checking the 'horribleness' off on a checklist or something, then naturally the movie is going to fail to meet your expectations.

^ true.
However i enjoyed the books at one time. After i kept re-reading them, i am starting to wonder if the book can still be called a children's book(teens maybe) because i think the book is a bit dark and the last 2 books were not really all that great in my opinion the first 5 were much better.
Honestly, i think some of JKR's characters were not thought out too well. Take Ron for example, he's supposedly Harry's best friend yet he's not the one to stick with harry through everything. I mean he ditched Harry and Hermione in the 7th book, then him not believing Harry in the 4th during the tournament, yet they still are best friends... I certainly hope this is not what they're trying to promote.
As for twilight, i have never read the book nor watched the movie, nor do i plan on doing so, vampires do not appeal to me.

Part of the problem, Twilight isn't a normal vampire that would need the gloom and clouds and stuff, its a romance (a bad one at that) that happens to have vampires.

I certainly hope this is not what they're trying to promote. If you look at it the other way it says that Friends will have hard times. Sometimes to the point where things will collapse completely. But they would always get back together. Ron is a very good character in the sense that he's not some fairy man who always does the right thing that is a good, virtuous, shining example to everyone but is someone who has doubts and fears and will do the wrong thing every now and then, like the rest of us. Making him all the more realistic.
