I I mean, there are few books out there that don't have flaws such as plot holes, or character's personalities falling short of expectations.
Not really, theirs' many books out there without those problems and are much better than Twilight at the same time.
Harry Potter is better, Twilight was good in some ways but I still found Twilight to be a sorry piece of literature full of cliches, unoriginal characters, and a sorry (and once again unoriginal) plot. It wasn't even all that well-written either, there was barely any descriptions NOT involving Edward's sparkling teeth.
Even Stephen King wasn't amused by her writing:
blogs.usaweekend.com/whos_news/2009/02/exclusive-steph.htmlIt wasn't even all that much of a love story to begin with. It was like Bella and Edward succumbed to lust rather than love if you ask me. Twilight reminded me of crappy shows like Gossip Girl and 91201 except with vampires.
I didn't really like the main characters ,especially Bella, is her ONLY goal in life is to f--- Edward and have his babies? And I hate female characters who are way too dependent on their male counterparts to protect them all the time (See my rant in PKMN Generations). It just symbolizes that all women are nothing more than inferior, weak, sex toys.
Didn't like Edward either, reason: because he's a Gary Stu, he's just way too perfect for my taste. I was actually much more interested in what Edward's family was doing rather than the what the main characters were up to. They could have been having sex 24/7 while the story focused on the rest of the Cullens for all I care.
Twilight is entertaining book if you're looking for mind candy, other than that it's terrible. I personally believe it's all the mind candy that made Twilight so irresistible to girls in the first place... <.<'
