Waving her hand in a beckoning fashion, Manda kept her head cocked slightly to the side as she spoke to the bear.
"Well I won't make fun of you," she said, smiling. "So come on down out of that tree! Besides, that Dave-looking cat fellow, erm, I mean, cat-looking Dave fellow, he looks nice too. Maybe we could all go on a bug catching expedition or something! Let's go ask him his opinion on it =D"
Hurrying on out onto the sands of the beach, a short, dark-furred racoon, one that wore a green apron, raised one of his hands, waving frantically as he approached a blonde-haired girl that was standing near the water.
"Yes, hello there, I'm Tom Nook," he greeted Nicole at once, pausing to stand right in front of her. "I see you're new here, and undoubtedly you'll need a place to stay."
Pointing over toward a tall, nice-looking beachfront house, the raccoon continued on.
"So how's about that nice beach house over there. It's a mere 300,000 bells. Will you take it? Who am I kidding, of course you'll take it! Now, kindly come by my store in a short while--Nook's Cranny tis the name--come by there and we'll work out a way for you to pay off your new mortgage. Well, tata for now!"
And without allowing the blonde girl a single word, the Raccoon called Tom hurried back on up the sands of the beach, heading back into town.

Dave smiled up at Manda, bagging his fish and placing it in his pocket, before standing up, grinning again.
"A Bug hunt?! That sounds awesome!" He replied, enthusiastically, retracting his fishing pole, swapping it for another short stick. Extending this, he revealed a bug net that he'd stored in his shorts pocket. "I'm gonna win though!"
