OK, guys, I'm gonna try to see if I can actually do this. Since I've been reading a lot of Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star fanfics over time, I've noted that the series are both eerily similar, with Azumanga Daioh pioneering the (slice-of-life) genre and Lucky Star renovating it. I've also noted that when you usually cross over LS and AD, it fits very snugly together. So, I want to create a Q&A show (very similar to Azumanga Help Desk by Weener1 on FF.net) that also throws in a bit of randomness, hilarity, and romance in between. But, the catch is I want to do it with the casts of both shows (not to mention authors and OCs, eventually...), and I think in order to do that, I need to have some support out there. However, I have quite a few of the details set; I currently have a list of the ships I'll be focusing around in the show. It goes as follows. 1 - Konata(LS)xKagami(LS) 2 - Minami(LS)xYutaka(LS) 3 - Patty(LS)xKaito(OC by nukerjsr) 4 - Sakaki(AD)x? (tough to decide between Chiyo-chan(AD) or Joe Sakaki(OC by jamesbondkid2001)) 5 - Tomo(AD)xYomi(AD) 6 - Yukari(AD)x? (either gonna be Nyamo(AD) or Moe Fang(OC by Mo Fang)) 7 - Nyamo(AD)x? (depends on 6, although the other option is an OC named Donna(not sure of the source, though...)) Also, if you know the Azumanga Daioh fandom, then I'm pretty sure you've heard about the AzuKids (if not, for this and all AD references, check out www.oppdis.com/azu-wiki/Main_Page (for Donna, find Azumanga Help Desk...)), and I HOPE to have a FEW included if this fic gets popular enough. Therefore, I propose a question; would you support me with this so I can start attracting attention?

If I were more familiar with the fandom, then I could probably give some solid advice, JB, but nonetheless you have my support on this.

Bit much shipping?

Compared to Medea's Romance series? I would think not. xD

Besides, even the Q&As in the fandom are heavy on shipping; even more so due to the fact others OCs can be used (ex: nukerjsr's Kaito, who I think makes the best pair with Patricia Martin). The problems with this fic, though, are
1 - getting enough questions, and/or
2 - not being able to access certain characters
which is why I need all the support, reviews, and questions I can get. Sure, I do have contacts in the AD fandom, but I know NOTHING about the LS fandom, and I have yet to find a site for them...

It's just that given yourself a very steep hill to climb.
For Q&A it's better to stick like glue to how the cannon is going, gives a lot more room for the author to breath and it also makes it easyer for the audience to understand.
For a novels stick to a small handful of ships, usually focusing upon one or two (in a triangle scenario) ships as the central ones.
If you get 7 it's gona be hard, I mean REALLY hard to keep track of Char dev. And that's not including the crossover aspects which are also an *** to explain no matter how compatible the fandoms are.
But still probally one of the more creative pieces I've seen thought of. So the best of luck on this.

....You haven't read Azumanga Help Desk, have you? Take a read, and that proves that there's a LOT of manuvering room away from the canon in Q&A fics.

This is just general advice I'm giving here. If you're getting away from cannon with that many ships (& therefore tons and tons of plotlines) there is a lot of things that you have to prepare in order to make sure that it won't fall apart.
Help desk is 300k words and written by an extremely experienced author who has 18 stories under his/her belt. Now here you're trying to go one up by adding on the crossover. I'm just saying that anywhere you can simplify things, don't hesitate as this is a collosal task to get done.

Well, I'll support you in this J-Man. I have to check out this Help Desk fic though, 300k words? Jesus, the average novel length is 60k. That's alot of writing...

And the thing is, its still going. Neat, ain't it?
XAOTL: This isn't to one-up him. In fact, it was more inspiration than anything that got me started on thinking this up. And considering research, I've gone through the entire FF.net archives of BOTH fandoms, and I've seen all the episodes of both series. As for the manga, I could find it easily.

It's just my way of saying not to rush into this. It's going to take time, deication, planning(character, plot, exterior plotlines secondary & maybe tertiary ones), some forsight, beta readers (possibly), and all in all there will have to be a lot of work done before the first chapter is posted.
Focusing on so many ships and how they develop, within a single story is a massive undertaking. It would be better to have one 5 chapter story with a single ship in it. That would take 3 months on average. But what you're planning on doing would take a good part of 3 years, unless you write like crazy.
Writing a story of this calibre is like climbing a mountain. It's the ones who prepair who reach the top, it's those who don't that find themselves collapsing halfway or finding that they have to go down to start again.

And I am preparing. Depending on whatever review questions I get, that will dictate what happens in the chapter. And, it's not like this will be a short fic here. This may be my, "continuous project." In effect, this will go on until I feel like I should end it, and then I can come up with a conclusion depending on how the questions I get shape out.
In fact, being able to adjust is the key in a Q&A fic is the key. That's why they often have some of the fastest momentums in terms of progression, which is why Weener1 (who I know as Jay) is one of the best authors in the genre.

Dude, some are already going to be there from the start, and the others will be a smooth progression. Do a bit at a time. Plus, I've got plans for more. I just need to sort out who I'm shipping with who...

Well, shipping is all nice and dandy, but do you actually have the plot down for the story?
