Didn't think May's Crush would stir up such a conversation...O.o I didn't know it was considered a bible though.

Well, like I said at my FF.net account, PikamasterADV is, like, the deity of Advanceshipping. XD

Lol, yea, I know, just still don't understand why that is. I mean, is the story just that well-written to most people? Or is it the storyline? What? Lol, I'm truly just curious, seeing as I really couldn't get into it myself.

For me, I guess it was the character development portion of the storyline and the fact that the story itself is at odds with whatever content the actual anime would have. It's a new way to see how characters interact, and it also gives us the fluffy goodness that we all know and love. ^_^
Okay, mini-rant over. XD

Like what Magmar said character development and character in relations with each other made the story interesting.

Pikamaster isn't that great... as Xaotl said theres probably fanfics out there way better than May's crush that have been unnoticed. LIKE MINES BABY!! Hell even Matkin said in a review that he has no doubt that Pokemon Generations will eclipse Final Challenge!
I even have people emailing ME giving ME ideas to write fanfictions for them out of THOUSANDS of authors they come to ME!(Cries tears of joy) Man ever since I started to write fanfics i got a huge boost to my ego.... which according to many people is not a good thing...
(Thinks about being more humble..) Pfft forget that! Nicole may be the coolest but I'm more awesome! Pika has nothing on me!
BTW has anyone even heard from Pikamaster lately?

^I think he's livin his life.
Usually I find the more reviews a fic has. The more problems it can have. It's the more unnoticed authors that have better all around stories.

I can see XOATL’s logic. I’ve read countless fictions where the story as whole is exceptional but the reviews lie only around the twenties to thirties column. It’s kinda sad and frustrating to see. The writer whose fics are all-round great might not feel as compelled to write anymore when they see others’ fics who are more *popular* and gained more reviews, but the writing style is not even half as great as theirs.

Well.. that may be true in some cases like on Forums but on FF, only the best written stories gets lots of POSITIVE reviews.
but for Forums or fansites, I completely agree with you. Say I'm a new member who just put up the best fanfic you ever seen against someone with 2000+ posts with an average or bad one. Nobody would even give your fanfic the time of day if your new vs the popular guy. pfft how stupid.

If you do look on ff. Usually it's the shipping fics that get the advatage in reviews. Compared to the not so rabid non shipping fic readers.

OOOOOOH! I see! Xaotl did anyone ever tell you your a genius? but still this may apply for some fandoms like Pokemon, but for more interesting ones like Naruto and Harry Potter, you could have no ship and still get thousands of reviews.
