alright, maybe not fear, but how much of a threat do you consider this ship to be to a general threat to Advanceshipping?

No I don't fear contestshipping at all. The writers wouldn't make it happen unless they were on crack. May wouldn't hook up with Drew as it would only shallow out her character.

YES, THIS IS THE MOTHERLOAD OF THREATS!!! If enough time passes without May coming back, then the ContestShippers are going to say its true until the point is driven in our heads.

Dude the shippers insanity is the only threat to us. Now for her not coming back come on they both travel and some regions either don't have contest or leagues. Just remember they are the ones full of hot air.

Ya I guess we do have a bigger threat from the Contestshippers themselves than the actual shipping. Drew is nothing more than a pretty boy, and May is smart enough not to go out with him. But time isn't on our sides for this one though.

True you do have a point time may not be on our sides but hey if that is true then the Pokeshippers are pretty much dead in the water.

They already are, there's little argument for that one.
But what I was referring to was Drew traveling alongside May (not necessarily with her). The longer they are away from Ash, the bolder the contestshippers will become. Because unlike Pokeshiping, they live to bash us due to the fact that we are their only rivals.

^^ That's why contestshipping is a threat.
I'm afraid that the writers will be influenced or pressured into making contestshipping canon because of such a large fanbase.

Well they did a lot of work trying to get the point that May and Ash are similar so they hopefully won't go back on it too fast. I mean why introduce a second Squirtle for May, when you could have just as easily brought back Ash's for Battle Frontier or just give May a water type that the main chars haven't caught yet.

Quite true, they went the extra mile to show that Ash and May are a matching couple.
Let's just hope that the writers won't let the work go to waste.

One thing we do have on our side is that in the Ruby ans Sapphire series they are a couple. Also the 9th movie. So Contestshippers can't say anything to us just yet.

And as long as Ash is the focus of the series (which obviously he will be) they won't get any real hints from Johto either.

They might show some of Johto, just as they have shown some of Kanto in Pokemon Chronicles.
