Just as I have told Xaotl in a review I am very concerned about a large contestshipping or pokeshipping fanbase, Or any shipping that gets in the way of Advanceshipping.
A large contestshipping fanbase might put more influence or pressure onto the screenwriters to give the contestshippers what they want.
So that is why I am also concerned about the size of the Advanceshipping fanbase. Correct me if I'm wrong, it seems to me that many Advanceshippers are turning to other shippings like contestshipping or pearlshipping.
I'm sure that all of you are aware that there are people who support the couple of Ash and May but just doesn't realize that it is called Advanceshipping. Without assurance that they are not alone in their belief they will surely turn to other shippings.
A possible solution to that is to reach out to those people and show them that they are not alone in their belief. That way, we can keep a stronger Advanceshipping fanbase. In other words, rally the people who support Ash and May but doesn't realize that it is called Advanceshipping and that there is a fanbase for it.
We can reach out to them through Youtube as many Advanceshippers are doing; but the problem is that most of their videos are titled Advanceshipping or AshxMay but the word Pokemon is not present in it. That makes it difficult for people who support Ash and May but doesn't realize that it is Advanceshipping to find the video.
It may sound cheesy but these are some of the issues that I had in mind.
Any comments, solutions, questions?

Well good point. I don't care if advanceshipping is canon or not. I still support it and I will still like it. If I am honest, I don't think they'll confirm much ships on pokemon I mean it's about creatures fighting. And if these advanceshippers are turning to other ships, then they'll just turn away from those ships and forget about them.
There is a fanbase out there, look at serebi and this site; these are fanbases. I think people aren't putting pokemon in thier youtube tags is because loads of pokemon vids get deleted due to copyright stuff.

That's right, which is why you have to look EVERYWHERE for the movies, but for some reason, AdvancedCoordinator can post the episodes on You Tube, which seems fishy...

Yes, we have a fanbase, but I'm worried that it is dwindling while contestshipping is ascending. I'm not too worried about pokeshipping or pearlshipping because pokeshipping is not "active" and pearshipping is being torn apart by almost everyone, especially the ikarishippers.
EVERYWHERE? That makes it hard for an ordinary person to figure out that Ash + May is Advanceshipping. It took me a while to figure that out too.

I will always be an advanceshipper. Poke and contest seem to bore me. I've written those pairs in a couple of my drabbles because people requested them, but ugh.

The sight of poke and contest always depress me...which is why I don't read or write about them.
I wish Ash and May were a couple right now...oh well, we'll just have to wait until their reunion.

Well if people are having a hard time finding a streaming version of the episodes/movies then use torrents instead. I used them and have most of the episodes on an external hard drive. In fact they are my main way of getting the new anime shows from Japan.
But on this topic, the problem is that without the constant hints dropped for a shipping, there will be people who change their opinions. Its happening with Poke and there is a good chance that it'll happen with us. The real problem is that Contestshippers can say that there are plenty of hints happening in Johto and we couldn't disprove that (although they have no true proof either), but the fact remains that May and Drew have much more contact than Ash does. Right now my guess is that we will see a rise in Pearlshippers out there, and until May comes back to the show there sadly won't be any large increase in Advanceshippers out there.
On a more practical note though, I would have to agree with C.Gholy. The Pokemon series isn't based on the fact that there are the relationships, its more about battles (and contests as of late). IMO, the only shipping that has a high chance of actually showing up in the there is Rocketshipping. With Adv, Poke, Contest, and Pearl being the next most possible. And besides, a large portion of the dubbed anime that comes to the US has has things cut out. So even if there is a true shipping that comes out the possibility still exists that they won't air it here (which is why I usually prefer the subbed material).

HUmph, even a PearlShipper then AdvancedSHipper like me can hate ContestSHipping. I understand your problems here... but how to reach. Maybe go on GMA with a sign saying ASH+MAY=ADVANCEDSHIPPING! OR join many forums and put in your sig same words. UYse churchsigngenerator.com or something like that to make a picture spelling it out.

Yes agreed. I remember for a few weeks before having my old site I thought I was a lone in the this category. I was happy as hell when my site became a hit. Sadly it is gone but yes we do need to reach out to the others out there. Also I would like to see it but it is doubtful we will know who he turns out with. It will probably end with him going on another adventure un less they do an epilougue to the show
