-For the whole better lot of last episode, it's natural. After all, Final Fantasy is always known for its stories having twists and turns, and IX is no different.
-I still need to adjust back-and-forth between Pokemon-style battles, and "normal" action-oriented battles. Believe me, it's hard to transition between the two styles. And thing is, I will have to do both time and again in this fic.
MH49: Broken Alliance
The Creature began its assault, even though It still remained obscured beyond that dark cloud. From It's tentacles that were clinging onto the dimension, black Mist began leaking out. The Mist formed, just like it did in the Charicific Valley, into shadowed Pokemon dopplegangers.
This time, however, these creatures vary in species origin now. Most of them are flying pokemon, notably Charizard, but there are also Pokemon like Dragonites, Pidgeots, the like.
Even though Ryu was in that colossal Myrmidon form, he spoke in his normal voice. "Well, leader," he said, referring to Zero, "do you have any plans on how do we take this thing this time?"
"Mask always said that the Creature doesn't attack by random. If It attacks a certain world, it means that It's after something in this world. Our mission: to make sure the Creature doesn't get whatever it's after!"
'Doesn't he know how crazy that plan sounds?' Ryu thought.
The trio flew upwards, passing a bewildered Zidane and his party. Zidane turned to his teammates. "You guys better get out of here. I've got to find out what's going on..."
Before his companions could reply, Zidane was off, running verticallly, up the wall of Necron's crumbling tower. In no time at all, he was on the same level, and speed, with Zero and company.
"Hey!" Zidane called. "Mind if I join in?" Zidane somersaulted, vaulting off the wall, and landing perfectly, just on Myrmidon's right shoulder pauldron. "Now tell me: what's going on?
"Where did you guys come from, and where did THAT thing come from?"
"We'll explain later." Zidane was surprised to find that the speaker was his very own "ride", Myrmidon the giant knight. "Everyone, get ready; here they come!"
The hundreds of Pokemon Dopplegangers flooded down from the Creature, ready for an all-out skirmish. Myrmidon started the battle by swinging his massive, rounded broadsword at the swarm, creating a powerful gust of wind. The gust blew away some Dopplegangers, but not most of them.
Zidane and Zero engaged the enemies, their lower bodies immobile so they can stay balanced on their respective rides. The former of the pair swung his staff/sword over his head like a helicopter propeller, disintegrating any Shadows that dared close in on him.
"Zero!" came Fou-lu's voice, unchanged like Ryu's, from the Serpent. "Sorry, but you have to get off; I have to change!"
"All right, but make sure it's fast," Zero muttered. He took out the second of his 2 Z-sabers, and, after setting some adjustments, the blade of the saber elongated thanks to a chain. This is Zero's Chain Rod.
Zero fired his chain to the nearest wall, and swung off Serpent and onto it. Just as Zero took off, did Fou-lu transform again, from a white wyvern, to black.
It has arms as long, perhaps even longer, than its body and short legs combined, a spike elongating the arm beyond the elbow joint, with 4 rainbow-colored wings on each arm. At the tip of each arm, there is also a sharp set of four nails. The dragon's head is protruded by two scarlet red horns, which, complete with the enclosed eyes and mouth, make his entire head resemble a red, intimidating mask. There are orange cracks like growths all over his body, except for the thick forked tail.
"The Tyrant Dragon," Ryu/Myrmidon murmured. "Haven't seen that in a while."
"Ryu," Fou-lu said, addressing his other half in the same usual tone, "let's break this tower apart. It seems to be the only one holding the Creature here."
"Gotcha! Hang on, monkey-boy!"
"I'm not a monkey!" Zidane retorted, but he did hang on.
Myrmidon swung his sword one way, while Tyrant fired a Dragon Breath in another. The two attacks sliced the tower horizontally in half, and the upper half is sucked by the Void's vaccuum above.
That plan didn't work, as more of the Creature's clawed tentacles descended from the cloud to cling on closer to the ground. Zero, meanwhile, extended the whole length of his chain, using it like a bungee cord, then propelling himself upwards, towards the horde of Shadows.
Zero sliced through the Horde, trying, although he knows it's in vain, to reach up to the Creature. What he didn't count on was that the cloud spat out blue-white sentient crystals tearing straight towards him.
Instead of hitting Zero physically, they fired lasers at him simultaneously and continuously. The android had to make difficult aerial maneuvers to avoid the lasers. He released something from his left gauntlet: the third weapon from his arsenal, the Shield Boomerang, which was, luckily for Zero, strong enough to reflect some of the lasers.
Still, some of the lasers hit, and Zero fell back to the ground in a daze. Myrmidon, in an attempt to rescue his teammate, lodged his round, 25-ft. shield onto a side of the tower, creating a saucer-like platform of sorts. When Zero was about to miss the shield, Zidane jumped the air, then tackled him so they landed safely on the shield.
Tyrant flew above them, covering fire. His wings sparkled, and he released a ball of black energy straight upwards through the Shadows and the Creature.
Zero stirred a few seconds later. "Hey, you okay?" Zidane asked. He grabbed his own shoulder, wondering why he felt like he rammed a brick wall.
"Yeah, thanks." Zero stood back up, stowed away his Shield and Chain in their proper compartments, and looked back up. Beyond Tyrant, he could still see the glowing red eyes of the Creature amongst the dark cloud.
Shadows and Crystals began swarming past Tyrant, and landing on the edge of Myrmidon's shield, surrounding Zero and Zidane. The two of them braced for more of the battle.
"That Creature's after something, alright," Zero said through gritted teeth, as he sliced through a Shadow Scyther. "You're a native around here," he said to Zidane, barely avoiding a laser. "Do you know what could It be after in a world like this?"
"I don't know," was Zidane's reply. "Besides, this isn't my world; we were just transported here by Necron, the big Blue below us. This is his dimension, after all, and he decided to destroy us, and-" On cue, Necron and Zidane's friends below them were seen also fighting the horde.
"Wait," Zero said, as something triggered in his memory. What was it that Necron said earlier? "You stand before the final dimension, and I am the darkness of eternity..."
By what Necron meant, Zero surmised that he(Necron) is the only entity in this dimension. And he remembered something else Mask said to him: "When the Creature appears in one world, it is there for a purpose. There is no possibility that It's presence in any dimension is an accident; after all, It controls time and space now."
In other words- "The Creature is after Necron!" Zero shouted to his allies. "It must not succeed. We've got to protect Necron!"
"What?!" all three blurted out.
Zero stampeded through a horde of Shadow Dragonites, and jumped off the edge of the shield. Zidane tried to go after him, but he was blockaded off by more enemies.
Crystals followed Zero on his fall, and through his determination, he was able to miraculously avoid all laser fire. He landed on Necron's right shoulder, much to the bafflement of everyone there.
"You want to survive?" Zero asked Necron. All seven red eyes trained on him. "We'll help you, but you'll have to help us as well."
To prove his point, Zero smashed a Crystal that was attempting to burn a hole through Necron's body with his hands. The hands are in fact, another weapon. Chips embedded in both of Zero's palms, allowing him to further strengthen his upper body strength, the Z-Knuckle.
Necron didn't answer. However, he fired Neutron Rings in the directions of some more Crystals that were aiming for Zero. The Rings disintegrated the Crystals as soon as the Ring in question surrounded the object.
Back to those above, Fou-lu/Tyrant saw a new objective. "Look, the Creature's anchored to this dimension by those tentacles of It's. We cut them off, and the Creature loses It's hold."
"Gotcha!"
"I'll clear a path," Zidane said, still on Myrmidon's shoulder, upon seeing hundreds of enemies between them and the targets. "Grand Lethal!"
More of Zidane's aural rays emanated from his body, sending them forward at the Shadows. The Grand Lethal quickly decimated part of the horde blocking Myrmidon's path, and the latter took advantage of it.
The giant knight slashed his way through the rest of the horde, making his way to the right side of the tower, where 3 of the Creature's tentacles are anchored. Zidane couldn't provide cover fire all the time, as he had to recharge every time he used the Grand Lethal attack. However, the "monkey" can still take care of excess shadows attacking from where Myrmidon couldn't defend.
The Creature must have sensed that his enemies knew It's weak spot, and so It tightened its defenses at the "Anchors". About a hundred feet below one of the tentacles, Zidane jumped off Myrmidon, and started running up the wall again. He tore through several Shadows before reaching his target. Once it's in his sights, Zidane hacked through the tentacle binding the Creature to the tower.
However, the tentacle was harder than Zidane expected, that not even his sword can't make a dent on it. Stunned, he paused, then shouted, "What is this thing made of? Crystal?!"
A spark of recognition lit Ryu's memory. The "roots" he investigated in that "dragon-ridden" valley are, of course, made of the same material as the tentacles. Ryu made a mental note to tell his allies about this later. He joined Zidane in hacking and slashing at the tentacles, even though they're in vain, even with Myrmidon's massive sword.
Fou-lu as Tyrant, meanwhile, stormed the opposite side parallel his allies. Without someone to cover fire for him, things might look tough for him. Then again, Tyrant is a powerful dragon, and was able to overcome the obstacles on his own.
Soon enough, the Tyrant used its signature breath attack, Dark Wave. The dark sphere of energy through the horde and straight to the targeted limb. The impact caused a powerful shockwave that tore what remained of Necron's power, to pieces.
Back to the base of the tower(or what's left of it), Zero noted the change of strategy of his teammates. He took too long evaluating their situation; he got mobbed by more Shadows and Crystals alike.
However, the mob of enemies were sent flying by a blast of white energy. Zero caused the explosion himself, it being one of his signature attacks, the Giga Crush.
Necron wasn't so lucky. The Creature sent more larger, more powerful Crystals to join the skirmish. These Alpha Crystals were able to easily beat Myrmidon, Tyrant and Zidane with simple blasts. They headed straight for Zero's correct deduction: Necron.
The ACs surround Necron. As powerful as the colossus was, he couldn't break free from the ethereal barrier erected by the ACs surrounding him. The crystal prison lifted Necron slowly into the sky.
"NO!" Zero shouted, but he got mobbed by more monsters again, and he can't use another Giga Crush immediately. Zero was helpless, as he watched the prison containing Necron take off into the dark cloud, where the Creature awaited.
The battle ended as quickly as it began. Their goal accomplished, the Shadows dissipated, and the tentacles retracted. Zero and company, as well as Zidane and his allies, landed back on the summit below the tower. They all looked up; the dark cloud is slowly dissipating above them, dissolving in the yellow.
"So what?" Ryu asked. "Is our mission a success, or a failure?"
Zero gritted his teeth. "The Creature's gone, and so is Necron. Good news for them, perhaps," he said, pointing to Zidane, "but obviously not for us. It's definitely a failure."
'Why was the Creature after Necron?' Zero thought. 'And why do those lasers look familiar?'
Zidane was about to pop a question, when another magic circle appeared beneath his feet. "Oh, no, no, NO! Not now, I still have-"
In the blink of an eye, Zidane and his friends vanished before their very eyes. "Now, I'm completely confused," Fou-lu muttered.
"You and me both," Ryu agreed. He turned to Zero. "You figured it out, so tell us: Why was It after Nec-whatever?"
Zero shook his head. "I still don't have any definite idea. We'd better head back. Oh, and guys, let's pick up some samples from that Mist below the mountain before we leave. Just in case."
After picking up a sample, Zero used the compact transmitter on his gauntlet to make the Trans Server in Mask's Fortress online. After a while, he paused. "Uh-oh."
Ryu cringed when he heard Zero say that. "What? What's wrong now?" Fou-lu asked.
"Either the Trans Server doesn't have enough range, or its time and space distorting the coordinates again. We're stuck here..."
"WHAT?!"
"How in the universe are we going back now?"
Zero turned off the online computer on his gauntlet. "Simple. We have to find another Rift that will take us out of here."
Fou-lu crossed his arms. "The problem isn't in finding a Rift; I'm sure that with the time-space distortion, there's bound to be plenty of them around here. The problem is that we don't know-"
"Where the Rift we find, will take us," Zero finished.
Ryu waved his hands over his head in frustration. "Great, just great," he said, with a tone of sarcasm. "I feel much better already."

The Rockets have spent the past few days looking for the strange power source, but to no avail. The reason for their vigor in their search was so they can spend as little time at home with their host as possible.
Upon the fifth day, Jessie was storming up the downtown street, looking for James. It might be possible that James cracked under pressure of Jessie's bossing around, that he escaped from her, even just for a little while.
Finally, the female half of Team Rocket found her cohort in a computer shop. First, however, she encountered a certain someone outside the said shop.
The two females looked at each other with knowing glances. "They're there, aren't they?" Jessie asked.
"Yes," was the reply.
Together, the two girls stormed the shop. Sure enough, their targets are in the farthest reaches of the shop, eyes nearly glued to a TV set, playing a game on an old-fashioned PSX.
Unfortunately for the males, they didn't notice the new arrivals yet. "-it's 2 circles, then 6 left, hold L1 and R1, and finally Start. Got it?" the host instructed.
James carefully entered the code in his PS controller, and then watched the events unfolding in the screen. "Oooh, he got a facelift," James squealed, seeing his in-game character.
The host reclined on his chair, hands cupped behind his head. "Told ya, and it's not just a makeover. Find a capsule later, and you'll receive the best upgrades in the game.
"You owe me now."
The two players were unaware of their respective female partners standing right behind them, glowering. Together, the females slowly reached out for one left ear each, and pulled, hard.
"Ow-ow-OW! Crazy woman! Get your hands off my ear!"
Jessie and the "Hostess" pulled the two men straight out of the shop, much to the latter pair's chagrin. Other shop patrons looked at them inquisitively; one, in particular, was playing Final Fantasy IX.
=====
Pikachu(One... Two... THREE!!)
"YEOOOWWWW!" The Electric Mouse discharged a powerful electric current, passing it onto his comatose trainer. At last, Ash was "revived", although he's a bit paralyzed for the next few more minutes.
"Well, it's about time you joined us in the world of the living," Max, who was nearby, quipped. "Oh, by the way, Officer Jenny is waiting outside, ready to arrest you."
Ash sat up, and found himself in one of the beds in a rental room of a Pokemon Center. He then remembered what Max last said. "What? Arrest me? What for?"
Max made a face. "For public display of grossness. BLECH!!" Max whirled around in his seat, then bolted for the door, Pikachu on his heels, even before Ash could make a retort.
Ash then remembered what happened. He touched his lips lightly, perfectly remembering what happened that cause dhim to black out in the first place.
The youth stepped out of the room, to find the Center bustling with activity. Ash guessed that these people are there for a quick check-in before going to the hotspring resorts Cinnabar Island is known for.
He got out of the busy Center building to its front yard, where there are even more people. Ash muttered something under his breath, wondering where he could find his friends. He found them at the edge of the park, obviously waiting for him. Obvious, as in May was trying to get Ash's attention.
Ash, on the other hand, slowly made his way through the crowd to his friends. There was something nagging the back of his head since he woke up. Why does he feels so nervous feel like this? Does it have something to do with May being back, and that kiss she gave him?
The crowd continues to grow thick, as if the vacation season was upon them. Little do these people know, something sinister lurks deep underneath their feet. Something not human, and that doesn't quite belong there, making its way underground to the Neo Cinnabar Gym.
CONTINUED
-Zidane will be the latest, and last, hero to add to the roster, although he'll only join a little later. That brings the count up to 5. Include Ash, and it will be 6. Adding more heroes will make the story TOO obscure, even for me.
-Speaking of above, it's not hard to guess who the 5th hero is, eh? But I'm telling you, it's not Mask.

Zero(Red)A highly advanced android created by the mad scientist Dr. Wily(main antagonist of the first Megaman series). He was created supposedly to oppose the greatest creation of Wily's archrival Dr. Light: Megaman X. Being the only peer to X, Zero is assumed to have limitless potential like him, and could prove a threat to peace. However, he turns out to be one of the greatest heroes fighting for humanity and Reploids alike. Ironically, he was only openly given the title of hero after his death at the end of Megaman Zero 4. Unlike his partner and best friend Megaman X(which is ironic considering their inevitable fate of facing each other in battle), Zero has his own resolve for fighting. He is not pacifistic, like X, and instead relies on his own actions to bring about peace. Zero's arrival upon the Pokemon world is shrouded in mystery, even to himself; he doesn't remember anything except his last moments, on the massive Ragnarok space station. -Weapons:
1) Z-saber: Zero's favorite, and signature, weapon. From Megaman X2(the weapon's debut) to Megaman X5(Zero's 2nd recorded death), the sword is awry-shaped, with a non-definite shape. X6-Megaman Zero 2 showed the blade in a more solid form, similar to a lightsaber of Star Wars fame. MMZ3 onwards gives the saber a unique, triangular shape, which remains until his "true" death at the end of MMZ4. Zero is implied to use 2 Z-sabers in the Megaman Zero series. The second Z-saber is used to augment, and power, the rest of Zero's weapon arsenal. 2) Shield Boomerang: Debuting in the first Megaman Zero game and used until the end of Z3, it is a spinning disk of energy attached to Zero's left gauntlet. It can block enemy projectiles, and can also be used as, the name implies, a limited-range boomerang. 3) Z-Knuckle: The only weapon without an augmenting of the Z-saber. Instead, the weapon(s) is/are microchips contained on each of Zero's palms, boosting his already extraordinary strength. 4) Rod: A combination of Zero's three Rod weapons. Can interchange between Triple(spear), Chain(grappling hook) and Recoil(pair of tonfas). They each appear as separate weapons in Megaman Z, Z2 and Z3, respectively. -Abilities:
1) Combo: Zero's signature attack. Comes in three forms: --a) Buster: Zero fires two charged shots(more powerful than X's), followed by a crescent wave from the Z-saber. Seen only from X2-X3, but had a cameo in MMZ3 as one of the Final Boss' primary attacks. --b) Saber: The most well-known of Zero's combo, in which he slashes three consecutive times with the Z-saber. Unchanged from X4-X8, and slightly altered in Z-Z4. The Final Boss of MMZ3 performs the Zero series variation, and with a stronger, 7-hit version, the Shungokusatsu, a nod to Akuma of Street Fighter. --c) Spear: Rare, appearing only in one game, MMZ(1). The Triple Rod stabs forward, and the spear extends after each hit, up to a total of three hits, hence the weapon's name. 2) Rising: Zero performs an uppercut move with his saber. Often, he spins around in the uppercut, in order to deal more damage. Appears in most X and Zero series games, commonly aligned with the fire element. The Final Boss of MMZ3 uses an upgraded, non-elemental version, in which the uppercut is higher. 3) Dash Stab: As the name implies, Zero performs a ground dash with his Z-saber pointing forward, skewering enemies in its path. Uncommon in the X series, but frequent in the Zero series, and aligned with the Thunder element in the latter case. 4) Roll: Power is sacrificed in exchange for multiple hits. Zero spins in the air with the Z-saber stretched outward, able to hit enemies in front, above, below, and even behind him. Also can be used on the ground, as of the Zero series. Appears in most Megaman X games, but appears in all Zero games. In addition, the Final boss of MMZ3 uses a variation of Giga Crush with a jumping Roll attack. 5) Sweep: Instead of throwing the Shield Boomerang through the air, Zero rolls the Shield along the ground, and has longer range than the normal throw. Aligned with the fire element. 6) Orbit: The shield, once thrown, orbits Zero at will, and moves when Zero moves. Enemies hit will be sliced. Aligned with the ice element. 7) Giga Crush/Attack: Arguably Zero's most powerful attack. Zero slams his fists to the ground, sending a powerful blast of energy around him that destroys all enemies that are hit. Doesn't have an elemental alingment, except for Earth Gaizer(earth/Ex2) and Bakuenjin(fire/X7). Appears in all X games that has him as a playable character(X4-?), but absent in all Zero games. However, a version of Giga Crush seems to be performed at the "gif" in my signature. Plus, the Final Boss of MMZ3 performs two versions of Zero's Giga Crush, Rakuhoha(X4) and a combination of Rekkoha(X6) and Tenshouha(X8). The boss could also perform the former in mid-air, with the aid of a Roll. 8) Charge: Zero charges up power, and releases it by smashing the Z-saber into the ground. The smash creates a splash effect that hits enemies in front and above. The Charge could also be performed in mid-air, and strangely enough, there is still a splash effect. Only appears in the Zero series, applicable when Megaman X implemented his own X-Buster technology onto the Z-saber before giving it back to Zero. The Final boss of MMZ3 also uses this attack, but has a longer splash range, and also causes debris to fall from the ceiling. 9) Form Change: Zero changes his appearance, mainly in the color scheme; his abilities vary each form. There are four forms: --a) Normal: As implied, this is Zero's normal form. Has no strengths and weaknesses, and balanced in stats. Normal red in coloring. --b) Proto: Famously referred to as "Black" Armor from the X series. A dangerous form for Zero, and only used for desperate cases. This form doubles Zero's attack power in exchange for halving his defense. Zero can't also use his skills while in the Proto Form. Black in coloring. --c) Ultimate: All of Zero's stats are boosted and well-balanced like Normal, although power isn't as high as the Proto. It is a glowing crimson in color. --d) Omega: In the guise of Zero's "original body", this is the form used by Omega Zero, Final Boss of Megaman Zero 3. Appearance is in a darker red coloring contrast from normal, and has a white aura silhouetting the body. The Z-saber is also given a violet hue. Ryu Quattro(Blue)One half of the mystical Yorae Dragon, or the "Dragon of Destiny". Main protagonist of Breath of Fire IV, and anti-thesis to his other half, Fou-lu. This version of Ryu is opposed to Fou-lu as in, whereas the latter is complete, Ryu is still incomplete. Although he and Ryu come from the same universe, and timeline, their dimensional plane is different. It is implied that Mask came to Ryu's dimension himself, and requested Ryu's aid in his goals, which, to this day, remained indefinite. Naturally he and the parallel version of Fou-lu that Mask enlisted, do not get along most of the time. -Abilities:
Transform: Ryu can transform into the following dragons: 1) Aura: Ryu's default(true) dragon form, as opposed to Fou-lu's Astral. The most balanced out of Ryu's dragon forms, yet also the weakest. Its blue in color, perhaps because of Ryu's hair. 2) Kaiser: His most powerful form, a counterpart to Fou-lu's Tyrant. Getting its power from the sun, it is aligned with the fire element. Its signature attack is the Kaiser Breath, in which Kaiser flies through space close to the sun, absorbs its power, then sends hundreds of lasers to opponents back on the ground. 3) Myrmidon: a humanoid dragon in armored form, aligned with the air element. Although it towers in size, its broadsword is even larger. Its signature attack is Metastrike, in which he seals opponent's movements in a magic circle, then transforming it into a sphere. The sphere is then sliced literally in half by searing wind coming from the slash of Myrmidon's sword. 4) Behemoth: a large, quadrupedal dragon, whose face is on the actual body(meaning "no neck"), and having sharp spikes on its broad back. Fou-lu also has this form, although he never uses it. Because it's of the earth element, it's very slow, but it makes up for it with power. Its signature attack, Meteor Strike, summons a giant rock from space; Behemoth jumps high towards it, smashing through the rock, sending the debris falling to the ground. Fou-lu(Grey)The other half of the Yorae Dragon. In Breath of Fire IV, he's supposedly the main antagonist, but, in MY opinion, it's bias only just because he's the Final boss. He's less malevolent than his game persona, for a good reason: Although in the dimensional plane he's from, he is the dominant mind, some of Ryu's(who Fou-lu "absorbed") personality is retained after their union. Like Ryu, Fou-lu was personally invited by Mask to join the latter's organization. Despite their differences, Ryu and Fou-lu decided that there is something bigger amiss than their rivalry, and must put their differences aside. -Abilities:Transform: Fou-lu can transform into the following dragons: 1) Astral: Fou-lu's default(true) dragon form, as opposed to Ryu's Aura. It comes in two forms: the normal, draconic one, and the humaniod one, which serves as the true Final Boss of BoFIV. Like Aura, Astral's coloring responds to Fou-lu's color; in this case, white. 2) Tyrant: His most powerful form, a counterpart to Ryu's Kaiser. Getting its power from the moon, it is aligned with the water element. Its signature attack is Dark Wave. Much like Kaiser Breath, only the Tyrant absorbs energy from the moon, and sending it to the enemy via a powerful sphere of dark energy. 3) Serpent: True to its name, it resembles more of a white serpent with wings than the traditional dragon. Aligned with the element of water, it's signature attack is Hell-Blizzard. Here Serpent forms a large ice crystal from its mouth, and fires it to enemies. Upon contact, the crystal explodes, freezing all enemies in place. 4) Infinity(only usable by fusing with Ryu): The most powerful dragon in the game, presumably the Yorae Dragon complete itself. In Breath of Fire IV, this is only accessible with reaching the "Bad" ending, wherein Ryu is absorbed by Fou-lu, thus making them complete. Appearance-wise, Infinity has Tyrant's and Kaiser's general appearance, with traits from both forms, plus a gold, spinning halo-like ring on its back. Since Fou-lu was the dominant mind upon Infinity's appearance, its signature attack is the same as Tyrant's: Dark Wave. ZidaneHero of Final Fantasy IX. In his story, he is supposed to be the "Angel of Death" that brings out many deaths in lieu of an invasion from a parallel world, Terra. However, Zidane spent most his life on the world he was supposed to destroy, Gaia, and instead rebels against his own "father" who created him. Zero, Ryu and Fou-lu chance upon Zidane on a fated moment. The latter's own group of heroes were facing off against a powerful entity known only as Necron, who decided that the fate of their world is to return to a state of non-existence. Zero's group accidentally stumbled upon Necron's dimension, where the fateful battle for Zidane's world took place. Abilities:1) Trance: Implied to be short for "transformation". Zidane transforms, his clothes turning into real fur, and a glowing pink aura surrounding his body. This gave him a more simian appearance, and all his abilities are enhanced, especially speed, plus giving him access to the "dyne" attacks. 2) Dyne: powerful skills only usable when Zidane is in Trance. These are his known Dynes: --a) Free Energy: Zidane tackles all opponents, and each impact results in an explosion, with Zidane escaping such explosion unhurt. --b) Shift Break: Zidane summons a black hole, that warps all enemies in range. --c) Grand Lethal: Several beams of energy lance out from Zidane's body, striking the enemies. Each "lance" explodes upon impact. this is Zidane's most powerful, and most exhausting to use, skill. GilgameshA travelling metahuman, he is the most recurring character in the Final Fantasy series. A sword-hunter, he makes prize with the most powerful swords in the Final Fantasy world. In particular, he always searches for the legendary Excalibur, only to end up with a cheap imitation all the time, the Excalipur. He makes his home in the Void, which is central to the plot of NLC. By accident, he stumbles into the Pokemon world, and although he took an assumed name, Ajax, is now under surveillance by Mask and his men. Abilities:None in particular... He does, however, have possession of some of the legendary weapons in the Final Fantasy universe. Also, he has the ability to morph his appearance, from a normal, human form, to his true form, having eight arms and greyed skin. There they are, the heroes(although Gilgamesh is still borderline neutral) that will help Ash protect the Pokemon world and the rest of the universe from the massive threat of the Void and whatever's controlling it.

MH50: Pressured
"Er, May..."
Ash joined his friends and Pokemon for a late lunch. After waking up from a coma, Ash would surely have eaten to his heart's content. But, he felt somehow perturbed, especially when he was being watched intently.
That would be the case of Pichu. As soon as Ash sat next to the picnic table, Pichu ran from May's side to his, and firmly sat there, right next to Ash's plate. It seems that pichu is as curious about his resemblance(hair) to Ash as the latter is.
"Er, May," Ash repeated, eyeing Pichu nervously, "why is that thing looking at me like that?"
"Oh, he's curious, that's all," May said. In cue, Pichu canted its head from one side to the other, like it was examining Ash. "For why you have the same hair as he is."
This caused all of Ash's Pokemon to guffaw behind his back. Pichu innocently turned its attention to them, which made them fall silent immediately.
Max, meanwhile, was eyeing the plate of scrumptious meal on a plate before him. As hungry as he was, Max had a hard time believing May prepared all this meal; another plus to the growing enigma surrounding her.
"Er, May," Max said, echoing Ash's words, "since when did you learn to cook?"
"Oh, I learned it from Brock." May's cheerful expression clouded for a moment, then back again. "I sure wish that I was able to remember how I escaped, then so we could help him and Misty."
Dawn looked sympathetically at her friend, and, unlike Max, ate her food without hesitation. She found the food to be delicious. "Try it, guys, it's not bad," she urged her friends. "In fact, it's downright awesome!"
Max grudgingly complied, and was stunned at how May's cooking improved. However, Ash still couldn't eat, thanks to Pichu. May rolled her eyes, and oicked the Pokemon up. "Maybe this is a good time to introduce yourself to the other Pokemon," May suggested.
Pichu cheered up at the thought, and quickly jumped off to meet the Pokemon. The group were perplexed. Pichu quickly shook each and every one of their hands enthusiastically, apparently overjoyed for having new companions.
When it came to Torterra, however, Pichu blinked. Only after a few seconds did the smaller Pokemon realize he couldn't shake hands with the larger one, since the latter has no hands. In fact, there was a very small sweatdrop trickling down Pichu's forehead at the sight of Torterra's feet. After a few moments' silence, Pichu went on to introduce itself to Dawn's pokemon.
The emotional Torterra, feeling neglected, cried comically. The flow of tears was so strong, that Pikachu and Monferno nearby had to summon umbrellas out of hammerspace, while sweatdropping themselves.
Pichu scampered back to May after introductions. May, in turn, handed the little Pokemon a baby's milk bottle to suckle on. Pichu went back to the Pokemon, and sat at the middle of the group. Moments after suckling, Pichu lost its balance even though it was just sitting down, falling on iots back. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the bottle is twice its size!
While eating lunch at the park, Max eyed the tourists coming and going out of Cinnabar. "Man, am I glad that we came here first before the tourists," he remarked. "Imagine the long lines we'll be going through if we did."
"I wonder what they're all here for, anyway?" Ash said, finally taking a bite out of one sandwich. It's not that Pichu finally left him alone; the baby Pokemon is just busy drinking from the milk bottle. Pichu is still, infact, beside Ash's plate, and still eyeing him curiously.
"How easy you forget, Ash," Dawn piped up. "You told us yourself: This island is a tourist trap because of the hot spring resorts. Which reminds me..." She turned to May. "What say you, May? Why don't we hit the hotsprings ourselves."
"That sounds like a great idea!" May agreed.
Ash and Max looked at each other, then groaned. Pichu, finished with its drink, jumped back to its feet, looking at Ash with innocent, yet piercing, eyes. Pichu suddenly jumped onto Ash's lap, much to his chagrin. Pichu started crawling into Ash's jacket, which irritated the latter as much as it tickled him.
"Ack- Hey, let go, what are you- Stop that- May, get Pichu off of me!" Ash looked like he was dancing on his seat as Pichu continued crawling underneath his jacket. He stood up, and jiggled on his feet, tickled by Pichu.
Pichu appeared, pouting and looking like it was about to cry, at the V-neck opening of the jacket. "It seems that Pichu is stuck to something," Max deduced, adjusting his glasses.
May rose from her seat, worried. "What did you do, Ash?" she asked sternly.
"What did I do?" Ash repeated. "He was the one who crawled into my jacket, May!"
"Unzip the jacket, Ash," May said, crossing her arms.
Ash started to protest, but froze when his eyes met May's. He grudgingly felt his way beneath Pichu's own head, where the zipper of the jacket is placed, and unzipped, until the front of his jacket was open completely.
When revealed at the opening, Pichu seems to be holding onto something at Ash's left lapel opening. The Pokemon wasn't stuck; it just couldn't remove something that it apparently liked. May reached inside, and found out what Pichu was holding on to: Ash's half of the Terracotta ribbon. Pichu was clinging onto the end of the ribbon, rendering the knot design nearly loose.
May tugged on Pichu lightly, and the little Pokemon fell into her arms. But the latter sprang up again, trying in vain to reach for the ribbon, while Ash tucked it back inside.
Pichu began to quiver again, and so May understood. "Since the two halves of the ribbon are basically the same, Pichu thought that your half of our ribbon is mine."
May reached from her fanny, and took out her Terracotta half. Seeing the other half seemed to calm Pichu down, and quickly grabbed onto it, effectively silencing the baby.
After the late lunch, May towed Ash, literally, out of the park, while Dawn and Max closely followed. This left all the Pokemon except for Pichu, who May brought with her, in the park, all alone without human company.
Pichu looked like it just climbed a mountain, as it made its way from May's arms to the top of Ash's shulder. Upon reaching the "summit", Pichu pointed forward, as if to say, "Forward March!" However, Ash went the opposite way. It turns out that Pichu's facing the wrong way!
Floatzel(They left...)
Pikachu(Without a care for us, apparently...)
At these words, Torterra began crying uncontrollably again. This time, all the Pokemon pulled out umbrellas to shield from the tear rain.

In the underground shelter on Sunnyshore City, Cyrus was surveying the Rockets' progress, through complicated graphs inputted from the Rockets' wristbands. And he wasn't exactly pleased at what he saw. The fact that his shelter is now a literal mini-zoo, thanks to the Pokemon he's babysitting, doesn't help with his bad temper.
Giovanni, still "role-playing" as Mime Jr. from time to time, was either there to help Cyrus in his research, or, in Cyrus' own opinion, to make his life a "living nightmare". "I don't think you even remembered to tell my Rockets what they are really supposed to be looking for," Giovanni said, with Mime Jr.'s arms crossed.
"If you stop nagging me," Cyrus snapped, "I would let you in on what I've been doing these past weeks while your precious agents are somewhere in the Void."
Mime Jr. went silent at once. "Good." He then turned on his computer. "Take a close look at this." Everyone gathered around Cyrus, much to his chagrin again. "Not THAT close!"
Cyrus muttered something under his breath. In order not to risk being mobbed again, he decided to print out his research. "I hacked into the database of NLA -that's the group that we should be keeping an eye on- and look what I dug up.
"Mask's work ties in with that strange power source I tasked your agents to find. This power source is what's causing the mysterious occurrences in our world."
Giovanni looked at the printout Cyrus gave him, while wondeing if Mime Jr. is compatible to use reading glasses. "It says here that whatever's causing the distortion, is causing the distortion in not just this world, but countless others as well."
Cyrus nodded. "I also came up with reports regarding incidents in the past weeks." He handed another set of printouts to Mime Jr./Giovanni. "Several attacks by unidentified creatures in several parts of Johto, Hoenn, and especially Kanto.
"Plus there was that catastrophe less than a week ago, wherein a laser was fired from the sky hitting the coast near Lilycove City. Luckily there were no serious casualties."
"All these events are connected," Giovanni thought out loud. "And the connection, and all the answers we seek, is with that Mask."
=====
The quartet split up into pairs. Max and Dawn were going to go on ahead and find a vacant resort, while May towed Ash to look for souvenirs. They will be in touch via Dawn's Poketch and May's Pokegear.
However, May couldn't decide where to start her shopping. Typical for a baby, however, the shop displays Pichu was most interested in, are that of toys and candy.
Ash, however, kept a good distance between himself and May. He was still pondering on that kiss May gave him. He began to think: 'Does May feel the same way towards him as he towards her?'
The boy was so busy with his thoughts that he doesn't notice that May and Pichu at very close proximity with him. They were having fun, trying to get Ash's attention. May winked, and put a finger to her lips, signalling Pichu to be silent. Pichu sat back down on Ash's shoulder, held both of its hands to its lips while May playfully waved a hand across Ash's face.
"He-llooo-o," May said, in a mock echo. "Earth to Ash, Earth to Ash, come in, do you hear me?"
Ash only snapped to attention upon realizing how close his face is to May's. "Gah!" he said, stumbling backward and landing on his posterior on the ground.
May couldn't help but smile at Ash, as the latter only continued on his way after the incident. He was obviously nervous with May now, walking like a malfunctioning robot out of a movie. She lingered a few feet behind him, but she knew he was red in the face, another hint to his nervousness. Pichu, still not changing the direction it was facing, waved at her from its perch.
As the pair were looking at another shop's glass display, a commotion rang out in the middle of the street. The manhole cover in front of them exploded in a geyser-like manner, followed by another one a few feet away, then another, and another. Black Mist began covering the streets, and Ash felt as if almost ready to choke from the smoke.
"What's going on?!" he coughed. As the Mist engulfed them, he tried to reach blindly for May's hand.
"Ash? Ash, where are you?" May called, also coughing hard, from Ash's left.
"Over here; come on, May," Ash said. His eyes are beginning to sting from the Mist.
Shouts and cries were rampant all over the street as Ash and May made their way to each other. They, too, want to know what's happening.
Ash thought he could see a pair of red eyes through the thickness of the Mist, when the Mist began to part ways. Coming from the Pokemon center in the nick of time were Ash's Staraptor and May's Beautifly, using a joint Gust attack to create a gap free of Mist.
Right below the two Pokemon are Dawn and Max. They were motioning for everyone to make their way over to the Pokemon center. The free airspace created by Ash and May's Pokemon were starting to shrink, as the Mist was too strong.
Grabbing May's arm, Ash made his way back to the Pokemon center, and so did dozens of others. Upon reaching the interior of the Center, several strong men tried to bar the center's door shut. The Mist couldn't reach them inside, but parts of it were seeping through the gaps.
Through the Center's glass double doors, the pair of eyes Ash saw earlier began multiplying. To Ash, it looks like they're in a horror movie or something.
Nurse Joy barked quick orders. "Everyone, close down all the entrances and exits to this room. We can't hold off the mist forever, but we can buy ourselves time while help arrives."
Ash volunteered to help, as did several other trainers. With that number, sealing all the openings of the Pokemon center happened in a matter of minutes. But, just as Nurse Joy said, the barrier's couldn't hold off the Mist forever.
During the momentary time of peace, the humans all around began asking about what's going on. Nurse Joy is having trouble trying to quiet them down.
Ash and his friends huddled to one corner. Ash felt like he rn a marathon, completely out of breath like that. "Where did that smoke, Mist, or whatever, come from?" were the first words out of his mouth when he regained his breath.
"Nurse Joy, as long as everyone else here in this building, want to find out themselves," Dawn remarked.
In the corner of Max's eyes, he saw a message coming from the computer at the reception desk. Nurse Joy went to receive it, and said out loud, "Looks like the Pokemon gym's in the same perdicament as we have, maybe worse," she said. "According to the guards there, the Mist is building up the strongest there.
"I've got to make a phone call," she added, only a little lower, and quietly made her way to a back room.
"You hear that, guys?" Max whispered.
"Yeah," Ash agreed. "Whatever's going on, the answer's sure to be there." The others turned to look at him. " And I'm going to find out."
"Know a good exit out of this place?" May asked after a moment's silence.
"Wait, you guys aren't thinking of coming with me, are you?" Ash asked.
"Come off it, Ash, you know we're not going to let you go alone," Max said. Before Ash could protest, he added, "Now, I wonder if Nurse Joy has a set of gas masks around here we can use."
While Ash, Max and Dawn looked arund for such equipment, May made her way to one of the rooms they rented. She placed Pichu there on the bed. The Pokemon sprang up to go after her, but she stopped him.
"Stay here, Pichu, this will be dangerous," May insisted. Pichu sat back down, a pout on its face.
As soon as Ash and co. made their way out, the Mist broke through the Center. Luckily, those inside are prepared to battle. What, however, they do not know.
Several black, red-eyed pokemon emerged from the Mist to combat the defenders. More Shadows, the "Grunts" of the Creature of the Void. But no one in the Center knows that...
Meanwhile, Pichu was watching the battle from the 2nd-floor window sill of May and Dawn's room from the Pokemon Center. It was very worried for its mother, and all its new friends; it thought, how could he help them?
The answer came in the form of a loud CRASH! outside the room. Curious, the Pokemon jumped from the window to the floor, and out the door, to see what was the source of the commotion.
Just a few feet outside the room, in a very comical looking pile-up, were three complete strangers. But Pichu couldn't help but feel familiar with all three of them. Pichu quickly ran, making his way to the pile.
The first one to stir was the very unfortunate white-haired one at the very bottom of the pile-up. He groaned loudly. "Terrific. Follow the Rift, he says. Get in first, he says. And now this is the best place I want to be at the moment: underneath a two-ton bucket of bolts, and a walking bottomless food chute! Geroff me!"
Both the "food chute" and the "bucket of bolts" only begun to stir upon the white-hair's cry of distress. However, all of them snapped at attention at the sight of the Pichu.
"Hey," the blue-haired youth, Ryu, at the top of the pile-up said, "isn't that the-"
"-the critter we keep seeing around Mask's fort?" the flattened Fou-lu said. "Yeah, of course it is; look at the hair! Now, I ask you again: Geroff me!"
Pichu finally recognized the newcomers. The baby frantically motioned for the three of them to follow him. Zero realized the situation they were in, especially since he's the on most familiar with the "critter". He pushed Ryu off himself, and got off Fou-lu.
Zero knelt down next to Pichu. "There's trouble," he said to his comrades.
"How can you tell?" Ryu asked, scratching his head. "You speak Poke-whatever?"
"No. It's not that very hard to tell, from its expression." Zero narrowed his eyes. He dashed into the room Pichu came from, and looked out its window.
Ryu and Fou-lu rushed to Zero's side, and they all looked out the window. Outside, Shadows are widespread, causing terror and mayhem to the inhabitants of Cinnabar.
"After one battle, we get into another," Fou-lu remarked.
"We have no choice," Zero retorted. "We've got to fight them back." He then felt a tap on his boot, and realized Pichu was trying to get their attention. "Looks like the little guy wants to come with us."
Zero then wished he didn't shoot off his big mouth too soon. With Zero kneeling down again, Pichu climbed onto his right vest pocket, fitting in quite snugly.
"Oh, so that's where the term 'Pocket Monsters' comes from!" Ryu remarked, trying hard, and losing, to fight back a laugh. "I never knew," he added, eyes twinkling.
Fou-lu rolled his eyes, and slapped Ryu at the back of the head. "Idiot. I really doubt that's the actual origin of the word."
"Come on," Zero said. "And Ryu, one more word, and you're dead meat; got it?"

-Something will happen here that will make sure that there won't be a vacation in a little while.
MH51: EncountersZero opened the glass barrier in the window. Jumping from the 2nd-floor, the three jumped down to the ground. The Shadows have sensed their presence, and quickly advanced on them. A Dragonite S from above swooped down on them, firing Hyper Beam, hitting the ground around them. Zero and Ryu ducked to the left, while Fou-lu to the right. The latter stopped in his evasive tackle just short, or else he would have met the blades of a Scyther S. Fou-lu morphed his hands into blue, scaly claws, and easily sliced through the Shadow with it. He charged through another swarm of Shadows, clearing the way. On another portion, Ryu also had semi-morphed, his hands being claws too, only having red scales. Instead of Fou-lu's melee, he based himself on using fireballs released from his claws. Zero, like Fou-lu, stuck to where he's good at, his melee sword attacks. Pichu didn't seem fazed at all when dozen by dozen of shadow dopplegangers of its kin were diced to bits by Zero. One, two, three slashes, the android's signature Z-saber combo made short work of Shadows faster than his two allies. The three of them, though making a racket in battle, were unnoticed by the other defenders of the Pokemon Center. This was because Zero and his allies are on a side portion, while most of the human fighters are along the front side. Zero felt like he was slashing at thin air, which, technically, he was. He went towards the direction of the forest, where his sensors picked the black Mist was gathering up the strongest. Ryu and Fou-lu followed suit. "Where are you going?" Ryu shouted at Zero's back. "Ryu, remember what you told us once about this Mist? About where they're coming from?" "Yeah, about those root-like things; why?" "The Mist couldn't have appeared here by itself," Fou-lu said, realizing Zero's thoughts. "These roots could be their weak point, and if we destroy them, the Mist will be gone." "Exactly. Come on." Zero stopped in his tracks, then slammed his fist to the ground. The portion of earth where Zero hit with his punch gave way, revealing it to be hollow. "Ryu, think you can handle things here?" "No worries. You guys go on ahead." As soon as Ryu finished speaking, Shadows emerged from around him. Ryu smirked. "I love it when I get the fun parts of a mission. Bring it on!" he taunted to the Shadows. Zero and Fou-lu jumped down, landing in what looked like a secret underground passageway. First thought would be the sewer network, only there isn't any sewage around. The whole place is dry, in fact. Pichu, in Zero's pocket, fidgeted slightly, looking like it senses something the others can't. Zero took note of the behavior of his "passenger", and cautioned Fou-lu to be wary of any surprises. The duo crept on forward, and Pichu looked grew more scared for every step they made. Zero's sensors picked up something about a hundred feet in front of them. Sure enough, Crystals start spinning toward them, ready to fire deadly lasers. Zero, in front, activated his shield, and its energy form grew large enough to reach through the roof and ground, and the walls on either side. The grown Shield Boomerang was enough to deflect the Crystals' lasers, for now. "We've got to find another way," Zero said behind his back. "I can't hold them off for long." "Leave it to me." Fou-lu "winded" back a clawed fist, and punched the wall to the left. After a lot of flying debris, the blow left a gaping hole. Zero and Fou-lu exited through the hole, and the latter sealed it with another earth-shattering punch. Safe for the moment, Fou-lu said, "Hope this won't take us to a dead end..." He turned to hear Zero's response, but the latter wasn't responding. For the first time since they first met, Fou-lu saw tension in Zero's face. "Hey, what's wrong?" Zero didn't seem to hear him. Pichu looked up; it, too, sees that Zero is distracted. "I feel something... So familiar..." He took off without warning. Fou-lu, alarmed, decided to give chase. The new passage is completely ridden by earth, with "normal" plant roots popping out every now and then. Fou-lu wondered where Zero was heading. Although he didn't have a full mental map of the Cinnabar area, he guessed that they were nearing one of those gyms Mask built. ===== It's quite obvious that taking back the forest covering the gym wasn't easy. It wasn't the first time that Ash has to fight not just for his sake, but for the sake of others. However, he felt that, right now, he was fighting a different battle entirely. Their enemies, are essentially shadows of real Pokemon. They're not hard to dispose of, but they quickly regenerate and multiply, making things a lot harder than Pokemon battles tenfold. "Torterra, Earthquake!" Ash shouted, while he and the others were sprinting through the forest trail. The ground shook upon Torterra's stomping on it, momentarily distracting the Shadows. However, the flying ones of course avoided the attack. May's Blaziken and Ash's Monferno both then used Fire Spin at the fliers, trapping them. Staraptor dealt the finishing blow by flying through the vortex of the Fire Spin, hitting all the enemies in a straight-line Aerial Ace. Ash, friends, and their various Pokemon sprinted through the forest, battling through the hordes of Shadows blocking their way. The same thought appeared on all the real living things there: "Where are these copycats all coming from?" When going uphill chased by Shadows, Ash quickly remembered what happened to him on his first time inside the forest. He fell back a little, telling the others to go on forward. As he reached the top of the hill after his friends, he saw the neatly piled set of logs precariously positioned at the top of the hill, just as he predicted. "Monferno, Slash attack the ropes binding the logs," Ash commanded his Pokemon. Monferno nodded, and as he cut the ropes, the logs quickly slid downhill, crushing Shadows, and obstructing the path of those that evaded it. Hoping that the logslide delayed their attackers, Ash went on to catch up with May and the others. ===== Fou-lu sensed an unnatural presence closing in on them, or more likely, they were closing into. Interestingly, there seem to be no Shadows or Crystals chasing after them in this passage. Up ahead, Zero kept his speed, not even bothering to see if Fou-lu was following him. After a short while, did Zero only stop. This allowed Fou-lu to catch up to him, and the latter, for the first time, was seen exhausted. The two of them were standing at the edge of an enormous underground hole. Roots, of the unnatural kind, popped out everywhere around the hole, obviously indicating that they're now at the source. "What? You see something familiar here, Zero?" Fou-lu asked. Zero narrowed his eyes. "Yeah," he said curtly. He was gazing deep into the hole, perhaps the bottom of it, if there is any. Fou-lu craned his neck to follow Zero's gaze. It wasn't long for Fou-lu to see what Zero was looking at, since the very subject is rising up from the depths of the hole. Literally rooted from the waist down, is a white cloth, made to look like it was worn by royalty. There were no sleeves, or openings for hands either. In fact, the "thing" has no hands at all! Plus, a triangular, glass container was at the top where the head should be. Inside the container, filled with a strange, sickly-orange liquid, is a human head. Zero clenched his fists. "Weil," he muttered darkly, through gritted teeth. "You know that guy, Zero?" The container lit up from inside, and the facial features of the head inside was made apparent. Two centuries' worth of age wrinkles covered his face, and his white hair flows upward with the liquid. His left eye, a hideous prosthetic red machine eye, is sticking out of his face, dwarving the right, normal one. Fou-lu flinched at the sight of the inhuman appearance of Dr. Weil. The madman, in turn, smirked evilly at the sight of Zero. "I thought for sure that we would soon meet again, Zero. "Ever since we last met, I've been acquainted with what you call the Creature, and listened his most saddening story. That the madness and search for perfection of humans created this tortured soul, and in the end they, mankind, thought it to be destroyed." "What are you talking about Weil?" Zero shouted angrily. "Don't you get it? This Creature is not the work of a force of nature; it is the work of mankind's sins itself!" Zero and Fou-lu were stunned, speechless. "Yes, the Creature is made by the failed entity known as man. You still believe that these humans are worth protecting, Mr. Legend?" Weil continued. "Its plan is simple. The Creature wants to use the power of the Void to purge this world, and many others in this wretched space you call a universe, and create a new one. In this new universe, there will be no more sin, since the Creature will create a new race whose thoughts are all connected and controlled by It in itself. You know what that means, my friend?" "No freedom. Just the way you want it, right, Weil?" "That's crazy!" Fou-lu interjected, stepping forward. "You- You are going to let the Creature get away with this? It's your own universe, too, you know!" Dr. Weil let out a maniacal laugh. "Save your breath, Fou-lu," Zero said, not taking his eyes off the madman. "I'm willing to bet that Weil will want to rule the alongside the Creature in Its universe, if they ever succeed." "If?" Weil repeated, his prosthetic eye spinning into focus at Zero. "There's no ifs. The Creature will succeed in Its goals. It will be inevitable. Just like this place will be of no use to us anymore..." Crystals began emerging from the hole, surrounding Weil. "Destroy them," he commanded. "Get ready to move," Zero warned, as the Crystals flew towards them, ready to fire lasers. Zero activated his Shield Boomerang again, and threw it at the incoming enemies. The Crystals were faster this time, and avoided the ellipse arc of the boomerang throw. Zero quickly caught the weapon in its return, and then dash-jumped towards Weil. he couldn't finish his jump, as he was thrown offguard by Crystals surrounding him. Fou-lu jumped too, and once he's withing proximity of Zero, transformed into a shining white dragon, whose color illuminated the cavern. This was not Serpent like last time; it was Astral, Fou-lu's true dragon form. As Astral, Fou-lu quickly erected a green barrier around himself and Zero, deflecting the lasers fired their way. Zero jumped onto Astral's back, and, with the shield still in effect, flew straight back the way they came in. The Crystals gave chase, leaving Weil alone in the cavern. "No matter how many allies you might gather, the Creature will never fail. The power of the Void is absolute, and unstoppable, Zero." ===== Back on the surface, Ryu managed to cross paths with Ash and the gang themselves. At this point, they also reached the Neo Cinnabar gym. Henry, Donna, and their apprentices were also doing battle with the Shadows, and the newcomers joined the fray. Ryu, while still trying to lay low, decided to fight without giving away his identity. Before he was given a second glance, he sank into the darkness of the trees, transformed into a giant, quadrupedal, rock-skinned-and-spiked, obese dragon. This dragon, Behemoth, assisted the others by using Quakes against the Shadows, and flinging large stone projectiles. Suddenly, the whole ground shook, but it's not the work of Behemoth, the Shadows, or the Pokemon. Something flew straight up, like it came from underground, unrecognizable by anyone but Behemoth/Ryu. 'It's Astral!' Ryu thought. 'He would never use that unless something's happened...' He morphed back into human form, just as Astral landed right next to him. Astral's shield went down, and Zero and Fou-lu, who also morphed back into human form, dropped to their knees, wounded. Zero had a hand to his chest. It turns out he was still protecting Pichu this whole time. Ryu knelt down to examine his allies. "You guys okay?" "Yeah, just a little bit winded," Fou-lu said between deep breaths. Shadows start surrounding them again. "Oh, man, I don't have time for this!" "Hey," a voice rang out that sounded like Dawn's. "There are other people here, and I think they're injured!" Floatzel and Staraptor, using Aqua jet and Brave Bird, respectively, plowed through the Shadows. They were followed by Torterra. Ryu hoisted Fou-lu and Zero onto the back of the larger Pokemon, and they sped back to the gym. Ash and Henry had the doors wide open for them, and they all ran inside, locking the door. The group found a moment's sanctuary in the gym's arena. By this time, Zero and Fou-lu have already recovered. Outside, the Shadows are seen retreating and disappearing. Zero stood up, clutching his vest pocket, and walked over to May. "I'm sorry, but I think belongs to you." Pichu was revealed in Zero's hands. It appears to be a little dizzy, but otherwise it's okay. "Pichu!" May quickly grabbed and held the little Pokemon close. "Thank you, but how-?" "It's a very long story," Zero muttered. Ryu and Fou-lu silently nodded in agreement. "Who are you guys?" Ash asked, taking a step closer to Zero. All three strangers looked at each other. Finally, Zero said, "We were just in the area, and heard of the trouble." He extended a hand, which Ash shook. "My name's Zero. These are my companions..." "Ryu," the namesake said behind Zero with a friendly wave. "And Fou-lu," the one on Zero's other side, spoke up. He nodded towards Max. "We already met." "We- we did?" Max asked, blinking in confusion. "Never mind." Fou-lu turned to John Henry. "Have any idea what those things were after?" "Yeah. Come on, I'll show you guys." Henry turned to Ash's company. "I'm sorry, but this information will be extremely confidential, and I advise you not to follow. It will be dangerous for civilians like yourselves." Ash and his friends didn't follow, all right, but it doesn't mean that they liked it. Zero and Fou-lu followed Henry back into the gym, while Ryu lingered a little longer with the "civilians." "So tell me," Ryu whispered, when Zero and Fou-lu were gone, "have you any idea what's going on here?" "I thought you would know something," Max said, suspicious. Ryu scratched his head and laughed out loud, trying to hide his sheepishness. "Those two," he said, jerking his thumb in the direction of his long-gone companions, "never let me in on anything. I'm just about as clueless as you guys," he added with a shrug. Ash and everyone else present sweatdropped. Dawn looked inquisitively at him, particularly at the sash/belt area. "You said that you joined with the fighting, but I don't see any Pokeballs, or any Pokemon with you," she saidm pointing to the sash, where Pokeballs normally are stored. "Or did you really fight?" "Er-" Ryu stepped back. Right now he's thinking how's he going to tell them how he fought those Shadows? He was saved at the nick of time by Fou-lu, who just returned. "What are you waiting for, you dolt, a signal beam? Come on," he said, an annoyed tone in his voice. "Who are those guys, anyway?" Max finally said, after the strangers finally left. "A weird bunch, if you ask me..." Little did Max know how accurate his opinion was... ===== Henry led them to the tightly guarded storeroom of the gym. The guarded door from the arena was just an entrance to the actual vault, followed by a small soundproof hallway full of alarms. Henry deactivated the alarms before entering, and closed the door behind him. Fortunately, even with the intensity of battle, the invaders weren't able to accomplish their goal up to now. The inside of the vault itself was a small, square space. And its single occupant took up most of the space. Henry turned the lights on, and Ryu saw what it was. "It's a giant, shining piece of rock," he muttered. "THAT's what they were after?" Zero went in for a closer look. He doesn't recognize what the rock is after the examination, so he inquired instead. "It's one of the many minerals from which one of the League badges are made," Henry explained. "This one, in particular, was solely made for the badge of my predecessor, the Volcano Badge." Ryu scratched his head in bewilderment. Since he is a foreigner, he doesn't understand the concept of badges, or what he calls "those shiny thingamajigs". 'These must be what Weil wanted to search for, for the Creature,' Zero thought. 'But what did Weil mean when this place will be of no use to them anymore?' "Henry, is there a quick way out of this island?" Zero suddenly asked. "Huh? What? Well, yeah, there's a small harbor close to here. I have a friend there with a boat, why?" "I've got a feeling that we have to evacuate this island." Everyone stared at him. Zero ignored this, and turned to Donna. "Make a call to the Pokemon Center, and tell them they also have to leave as fast as they can." "Alright," she said. "I hope you know what you're doing." Donna fled to the residential quarters of the gym, where the vidphone was. In mere minutes, the entire contents of the gym, human, Pokemon and otherwise, are now on the small ship, SS Mariah. The ship's course is on Route 21, heading to Pallet Town, the closest port. No word came from the Pokemon Center, and everyone hoped that the rest of the islanders were able to escape on time. The three agents of Mask are on a secluded part of the ship, near the stern. Cinnabar Island is in clear view in that direction. Zero and Fou-lu are taking turns telling Ryu of what they learned at the cavern. After the story, Ryu gave a low whistle. "This guy means business. Are you two-" He stopped short, his mouth hanging open, and eyes staring straight forward. "What's wrong?" Fou-lu asked. Ryu pointed in the direction he was facing, at Cinnabar, and the others followed his gaze. Right in front of their very eyes, Cinnabar Island, and the waters surrounding it, were now covered by a dark purple sphere. After a few seconds, the purple sphere disappeared, and so did the entire island! All that was left is a large gaping crater in the water, only for the surrounding waters to shift tide, causing a powerful whirlpool, and the SS Mariah is closing in on its vortex! CONTINUED
-Dr. Weil, major antagonist of Megaman Zero, is now a part of the Creature. Who's willing to guess that Necron would be, too?
-What happened to Cinnabar Island, is just a small portion of power of the Void.
-Can you guys fathom to think: When did Fou-lu and Max first met?
Hints:
1) It happened not long ago, and not far from Cinnabar Island. 2) Remember Fou-lu's power of shapeshifting, and the fact that he has affinity for the water element. The Creature found a willing ally. The worst kind of evil in Zero's universe:

So long....since last review......have grown afro since Haven't been around in a long time, and as such, haven't been reviewing. I think I just read about 5 chapters or so. Ok, so, plot building is excellent. You have this web of intricacy and complexity (and plagiarism of major games ) that is just awesome. I truly aspire to write to this level someday. Fou-lu and Max met when Max went overboard. Fou-lu, I am guessing, transformed and brought him ashore. Keep up this awesome writing. I am truly loving it.

MH52: Acquaintance
With Zero and company on one side(port), and Ash's group on the other(starboard), the latter was made unaware of the incident until it was too late. "Everyone, get down!" Ash shouted through the deck, trying to warn all.
Zero gave one knowing glance at Ryu, and Fou-lu, and they nodded in response. They ran to the edge of the ship, and jumped off into the swirling waters, but not before Ryu grabbed the ship's anchor, which, to him, weighed no heavier than a feather pillow.
Underwater, Fou-lu transformed into his Serpent form, and swam towards the center of the whirlpool's vortex. Ryu also transformed, into the giant Behemoth again. Behemoth held onto the anchor's chain with his large mouth, securing the ship. Initially, his fall into the water as a, well, "behemoth", caused powerful ripples along the surface. These ripples nearly capsized the ship, but Ryu managed to keep it balanced, sustaining minor damages.
Serpent swam against the currents towards the center of the Whirlpool's vortex. In his path, he was quite surprised that there were no Pokemon in the vicinity. They could have fled before the incident, or have been sucked into the Void like Cinnabar... Fou-lu inwardly hoped that it's not the latter...
Fou-lu swam around in circles, in the reverse direction of the whirlpool. This created another whirlpool, that advanced on the first one, hopefully to reverse and dispel the latter. It worked, and the waters were calm once more.
=====
"Paalam, at sana ay di na kayo bumalik (Good-bye, and good riddance)." The host muttered this under his native tongue. A rfeply came from the hostess by a slap at the back of the head, which, the Rockets noted, seem to be quite a "tradition". This was because, after the Rockets finally got their bands to work(they needed some help from some engineering friends of the host), they have decided to leave.
"Wha'd he say?" James asked Jessie.
"Eh, who cares," the latter shrugged. She added, in a whisper, although she made sure the Host heard her, "I'm sure not to miss him, though." James silently agreed, grinning.
"Shouldn't you two be leaving about now?"
Fine, we're going, we're going! Good-BYE!" Jessie turned on hewr heel, but not before sticking out her tongue, and out the door. Unbeknowst to her, just as she and James heaved out the door, the host gave a victory sign "off-screen".
At the walled backyard of the host's parent's house, the Rockets, or whatever they're doing, can never be seen. James and Jessie huddled close together, hoping that that might reduce their chances of being separated.
The dimensional bands(as Jessie liked to call them) were given an overhaul in appearance thanks to the engineering efforts done to them on Earth. Like normal wristbands they can now stretch for easily removal, but, remembering Cyrus' parting warnings, they didn't risk it anyway. The upside of the band is given a watch-like dial, that has to be pressed to access something the host calls a "Dimensional Trans Server."
Literally punch in the dial, and the band will transport them to a random location in the universe, again. "They only said they improved it," James pointed out, "not perfected it."
Jessie sweatdropped. "And now they expect us to test it. Wow, great friends we made here," she muttered without a hint of sarcasm(it didn't need a hint, since the sarcasm was blatantly obvious from the start).
Linking arms with James, Jessie slammed her palms into the dial, pressing it. In a moment, they felt the same travelling, swirling sensation they felt the last time they went through. And, just like the last time, the voyage was over before they even knew it...
=====
Repairs to the ship will add an hour to the thirty-minute time of travel between mainland Kanto and Cinnabar(or, at least, where it used to be). Henry and some of his apprentices were helping with the repairs, while Donna, in the company of Zero, Ryu and Fou-lu, placed a call to someone "higher up", which obviously meant Mask.
In the meantime, Henry asked Ash and his friends not to trouble themselves, and think of it as an impomptu vacation time. However, relaxing is the only thing in Ash's mind; Cinnabar Island disappearing in a black void occupied everything else.
"What do you suppose happened to it?" Max asked, when Ash told his friends of the troubling turn of events.
"And where do you think that big blob of sphere, or whatever it is, came from?" Dawn added.
May nodded in the direction of the ship where Zero and his friends went in. "I'll bet they know something about it. They look like they're from out of town or something..."
"Maybe. But then again, they might not tell us. They were pretty secretive, after all," Max reminded his sister. "Remember that part about the assault on the Cinnabar Gym? They never told us anything about that..."
In the SS Maria's radio room, there was no response from the radio to Mask's fortress. This troubled the group even more.
"Think it's the Void interfering with transmission?" Ryu asked, leaning on the table where the radio sat.
"Maybe," Fou-lu just said, shrugging. "If that's so, that would explain why we can't get a Trans Server signal. Right, Zero?"
Zero nodded. "But we never had this sort of trouble before. Which means, the Void is getting more powerful. We have to get to Mask right away to tell him this, but I'm thinking that he already knew about this.
"In the meantime, we go back to base the old-fashioned way."
"Great," Ryu said. "Give me a wingspan of-"
"No transformations," Zero cut in. "The people here are not used to that sort of stuff, yet."
"Then that means-" Ryu croaked, afraid of what he's going to hear next.
"We walk," Fou-lu said.
Zero nodded again, and Ryu groaned loudly. "Great. My favorite kind of pasttime. You know how much I have to walk just to get to THAT," jerking a thumb at Fou-lu, "guy? Geez!"
Ryu stormed off, out of the cabin, and Fou-lu rolled his eyes.
=====
The ship started up pretty soon, and then, in a mere thirty minutes' time, made port in a coast town not far from Ash's own Pallet Town. Ryu, the first off the ship's ramp, stretched his legs as he walked.
"Better stock up on supplies before the, BRR," Ryu shivered, "walk, begins..."
Ash, the next person off the ramp, overheard this, and turned to Fou-lu, who was behind him. "You guys going anywhere in particular?"
"Yeah," Fou-lu said. "Our destination is the Indigo Plateau."
"What, you're trainers heading there, too?" May asked curiously.
"Er-" Fou-lu stopped in his tracks. Right now, he's experiencing the same thing Ryu went through earlier, and coincidentally is in the same tounge-tied disposition.
"We're not exactly trainers," Zero spoke up, coming behind Fou-lu. "But we have business there."
Ash suddenly had an idea. As soon as he was on the dock, he shouted over to Max, who was still on the ship's deck, awaiting his turn on the ramp. "Max, what's the next gym again? I forgot to ask you earlier."
Max checked his Pokenav. "Uh-oh," he said, adjusting his glasses. "The nearest gym should be at Pewter City. But, according to the latest news, the eighth gym is now established not far from here, in Viridian City..."
"The eighth gym?" his companions repeated.
"Yeah, and according to this, all those so far who have completed the eighth gym are sworn to secrecy to the gym leader's identity there. It's also mandatory that the eighth gym be the LAST gym the trainers will be facing, and not in any other order..."
"Well, looks like the gym is slowly fitting into its badge's name," Dawn remarked. "Enigma, as in a complete mystery..."
Ash didn't say anything until all of them were finally off the ramp. "Well, we have to go by this League's rules, so I say we take the Pewter gym first."
His friends agreed. At this point, emerging from the nearby general store, was a large pile of plastic grocery bags with legs at the bottom. Fou-lu slapped his own head as the "walking pile" made its way to him.
"You're not thinking of eating all that, do you?" Fou-lu asked.
A head stuck out of the side of the pile, revealing the carrier to be Ryu. "What do you expect for a guy with a bottomless pit for a stomach like mine?" he asked with a broad grin.
Fou-lu shook his head in disbelief, as Ash and his friends stared. "I'm wondering if he said that just to mock me, or is he actually insulting himself?" he muttered. Out loud, "Fine. but I'm not carrying a single one of those bags."
"Hey," Ash spoke up, just as Zero, Ryu and Fou-lu were about to leave, "why don't you guys tag along with us? If you're heading to the Indigo Plateau, it's on our way to Pewter City, anyway..."
Zero blinked. For a second there, he thought to reconsider the offer. First of all, knowing a lot of people from various worlds would be an advantage to the trials ahead. There is also the possibility that he may find out why Mask thinks of him(Ash) as a "chosen one", solving a few questions in Zero's head.
After talking it over with his companions, Zero turned back to Ash. "Sure, why not?"
The group of four has now become a group of seven. A myriad party of characters, humans, Pokemon and "otherwise", this group was far from inconspicuous.
Pretty soon there was friendly banter amongst the group during their travel. May and Dawn keep commenting on Fou-lu's silk-like hair(Ryu couldn't stop kidding him about it afterwards). Max also wondered, out loud, about Zero's full-body attire.
"This is armor, made from the toughest materials possible," Zero explained, holding out his right arm so the others can see an example, his gauntlet. "Don't let the size of my vest fool you; it's also made from the same material."
"Armor?" Max repeated. "Why would you wear armor? What are you, a policeman or something?"
Upon hearing the words "police", a thought stirred in Ash's head. Of course, Zero looks nothing like the police officers he's seen, mainly Officer Jenny(s).
"You could say that," Zero said in response to Max's question. "In my, er, home, they call me a Maverick Hunter. And Maverick Hunters are roughly equivalent to policemen here, only my group's more elite."
Ryu mouthed something from behind Zero, that sounded like "Modest" in a sarcastic tone. Zero just ignored him.
Just then, Ash heard May say something behind his back as well. "Alright, but don't fall, okay?"
Ash turned around. "Did you say something, M-" Before he could finish, however, he felt something crawl quickly up his back, and at the back of his neck. whatever it was, it settled on the top of Ash's head, underneath his cap. "Hey, what the-" Ash tried reaching for his head, only to feel the cap squirm over him.
Everyone stopped walking to stare at him. Even before Ash lifted his cap off his head, he saw who the culprit was, when a small, black tail dangled in between his eyes.
"HEY! May, what's the meaning of this?"
May suppressed a small smile. "Pichu said that he wants to be there, Ash."
"But- But-" Ash took off his hat, and revealed Pichu sprawled on Ash's mop of hair, belly first. Pichu is facing backwards, similar to how he roosted on Ash's shoulder some time earlier.
Upon seeing Pichu on Ash's head, the group, minus Ash and May, had their mouths burst laughing. Even Zero couldn't handle the "pressure of humor", and had to excuse himself to some secluded spot to maintain his serious composure.
Pichu, still sprawled, turned 180 degrees to face the same direction Ash was facing. Pichu slightly lowered its face, so it can see eye to eye with Ash, literally. Pichu waved at Ash's eyes, trying to make his presence known, although it is a little late.

The story is still uber awesome Ryu. I like the way you portray all the tensions between characters, especially Ryu and Fou-Lu. Wish I could write like this *sighs*
Well, there's always room for improvement. There seemed to be a few more errors than normal in this particular chapter. Unfortunately, I'm not the guy to go and pick them all out seperately.
Keep up the great work.

MH53: Hometown Loss
Ash received plenty of ribs, and not the culinary kind, en route from port to Pallet Town. This is all thanks to his new "headgear". Pichu, however, doesn't seem to mind; the baby really, REALLY enjoyed being on Ash's head. Pichu kept patting countless times Ash on the head, trying to encourage him, not realizing that the gesture made Ash even feel worse.
That issue aside, all things are going quite well, contributing to the fact that the most Ash's group thinks of Zero's group is just the level of "eccentric". In fact, the trip struck up quite a friendly relationships between Ash's group and the three strangers. Despite the ethnic eccentricity of the latter group, they were able to find mutual interests: Fou-lu sharing a fondness of the arts with the females(in fact, Fou-lu even openly admitted to wanting to see some Contests), and Ryu immediately has a heated rivalry with Ash on who's a more voracious eater.
On the next Pokemon Center, the group decided to stop for rest. According to Ash, Pallet town is still a good distance from their location. Attendants in the Center's cafeteria, set up two tables for the party of seven. One point of interest during dinner was Ash being relieved when May finally took Pichu off his head so she can feed the baby, but that relief was short-lived.
Pichu, with bottle in hand and mouth, prepares to go back to Ash's head, and Ash said, "No, there's no way you're going back here with that thing!" May herself stopped Pichu, which prompted Ash to sigh in relief and say, "Thanks, May."
May, however, wasn't listening. To Pichu, she said, "You can go back on him afterwards."
Ash fell forward, his head hitting the table in a comical fashion, saying, "That's what I'm afraid of..." Right next to him, Dawn and Max, both having "seizures" of laughter behind Ash, fell back on their seats, for a different, more obvious, reason.
The other point of interest was, of course, for reasons obvious only to Zero's companions, he didn't join the group for dinner, which his new friends are curious about, so they asked his companions instead. "Why isn't Zero joining us for dinner?" Dawn asked.
This question brought some uneasiness to Ryu and Fou-lu. Of course, they couldn't tell Ash and his friends about why Zero would eat, the fact that he's a machine and doesn't actually have the need to eat.
"What is he, some robot or something?" May asked, as a little joke.
Ryu sweatdropped and laughed a little. 'She doesn't know how right she was,' he thought. "Zero's always a loner, y'see," he quickly explained. "He doesn't like eating with large groups of people, that sort of person, you know?"
To Ryu's relief, his companions were satisfied with the answer, and dropped the subject. 'Must be that they know someone who's like that,' he presumed.
Pichu, upon hearing this, sneaked off to find Zero, carrying the bottle of milk that May handed to him earlier. The baby scooted out of the dining hall, and quickly found Zero through the Center's glass doors outside, leaning on a tree. He was watching some of Ash's Pokemon in the distance, playing tag with May's and Dawn's Pokemon. Torterra was "it", and to make things interesting, he was blindfolded, with assistance from Ash before dinner.
Zero was completely lost in thought that he doesn't realize that Pichu is now underneath him, trying to get his attention. 'Hmm... Ash doesn't seem to have any certain gifts that makes him stand out from normal people. Why would Mask choose him? Is there something that the boy has done, or something he's about to do?
'Or has it something to do with his Pokemon? Is there something they're capable of that makes them stand out of their species?' He saw the blinded Torterra trying to go after the sound of Prinplup's and Pikachu's flippers and paws, respectively. The latter two dodged the Continent Pokemon as he bumped into the tree behind them. Torterra was shook up by the impact, briefly seeing a hallucination of Pidgeys spinning around his head.
"Maybe not," Zero muttered, watching the scene with raised eyebrows.
Zero was finally taken off of his thoughts by something bumping him at his boots. He turned around, and saw Pichu beneath him, holding up the bottle to innocently give to Zero. The android went down on one knee, asking Pichu, "What, you want to give this to me?" in a lightly amused tone. He whirled Pichu around, then giving the baby a light push.
"Thanks, but no thanks. I really don't eat, like you people do. Go back to your, er, mother." Zero gave Pichu another light push, and Pichu trudged back inside.
When the baby returned, May said, "Well, here's the little samaritan," as she picked Pichu up. "If Zero doesn't want to eat, you can't force him, okay? Here, have another bottle."
As Pichu drank from the second bottle, he was provided with entertainment. It turns out that Ash has challenged Ryu to an eat-off. They would eat piles and piles of sandwiches(Ryu couldn't suggest hamburgers for obvious reasons), and the first to give in loses.
"I don't think I want to watch this," Fou-lu said, repulsed at Ryu's eagerness. He stood up, but in doing so, he "accidentally" slapped Ryu at the back of the head with his elbow, much to the latter's chagrin. "I'm done anyway, I'll be outside."
Dawn raised her hand, about to give the signal to start the competition. "Ready, set," she slowly said, giving both Ryu and Ash a look, "GO!"
Without taking their eyes off each other, Ash and Ryu began their eat-off. As Pichu turned to look at one after the other, the baby watched as the mountain of sandwiches quickly shrink in "number" and size. After ten minutes of nonstop eating, Pichu, who was amazed at the two, clapped fast and loud at Ash and Ryu, encouraging them to eat even more.
"Er, May," Max said, pointing to Pichu, who kept clapping at Ash and Ryu after ten more minutes, who looked like they couldn't stop eating, "I think they were hit by an Encore attack. You'd better stop Pichu or else they'll never stop... And think of the very large food bill we'll be getting..."
Sure enough, this was exactly the case. Even as they continued stuffing themselves, Ash and Ryu's muffled shouts of "Help!" was finally, yet barely, heard, from their mouths...
=====
After taking a breather from the contest, Ash was on the Pokemon Center's balcony, overlooking the grounds below. He was leaning on the railing, watching from his view, May, who was playing with Dawn and some of the group's Pokemon. Completely spaced out, it didn't even matter to him if he was seen below or not.
Ryu and Max, on the same thought wavelength, snuck up on Ash as he continued to watch May play with Pichu. "Man, the way she treats that Pichu," Ash muttered dreamily, to no one in particular," May sure would make a great mo-"
"Go on," Max mischievously said, while it was Ryu's turn to try to control his laughter. "We're listening..."
Ash was abrupltly taken out of his daydream by these words. He whirled around, to find Max and Ryu nearby, smirking, their ears twitching in his direction.
"GAHHH!" Ash blurted out in surprise. "Get out of here, you two!"
Still smirking, both Ryu and Max fled back into the Pokemon Center before Ash could get his hands on them. They passed Zero on their way inside, and the latter could deduce from the looks on their faces that they were up to no good.
Zero reached Ash just as he was about to say, "I really hate those two..." under his breath.
With a shake of his head and a roll of his eyes, Zero leaned on the railing next to Ash. "How can you say that to someone who you barely even knew for a few hours?" he asked with a wry smile.
"You're not here to rib me yourself, are you?" Ash asked. Zero raised an eyebrow. "Never mind. I forgot you're the serious type..." Ash sighed, as he leaned in more against the railing, that his head is now against it.
"She's a very special girl to you, isn't she, Ash," Zero said after a moment.
"Yeah, of course she is; she's one of my best friends, after all. Why?"
Zero turned back in the direction of the Center, and started to walk in, before he said anything else. "If you have feelings for someone, then tell them this; never keep them to yourself. Before you know it, it may be too late..."
Ash blinked, then turned to face Zero, only the latter has already gone back inside. "What did he mean?" Ash asked. Before he could ponder on this, a yawn escapes his lips, indicating how sleepy he was.
=====
The next day, the group set off again. In order to appease May, Ash now has to tolerate having Pichu ride him. The previous headgear instead is strapped onto a latch on his backpack, in case there's a slim chance he gets to use it again.
Of course, after being gone for a long time, Ash was eager to return to Pallet Town. He ran ahead of the others, including his own "demoted" Pikachu, with Pichu barely hanging on to his hair, up the hill, the last obstacle to Pallet Town. "Come on, you guys, Pallet Town is just over this hill!" he shouted to the others behind him.
"Well, he sure is anxious to get there," Ryu remarked.
"Of course," Max said. "It is his hometown, after all."
"His hometown, huh?" Fou-lu said. "This should be interesting."
"But aren't you guys in a hurry or something?" Dawn asked.
"We never said that," Zero remarked. "Besides..." He looked around their surroundings. "I learned from experience that you should never always rush things. We have all the time in the world."
"Something's wrong," May suddenly said, and everyone else turned to face her. Instead, she pointed in Ash's direction.
The others looked at Ash again to see what happened. Ash, at the top of the hill next to a tree, was completely frozen in shock. Pichu was also paralyzed, by whatever they both saw. They quickly raced up to him, May in the lead, to check if they all right, only to see what they saw.
A giant, purple(semicircle) sphere glows where Pallet Town stood, the sphere stretching the entire size of the town! Zero, Ryu and Fou-lu all had the same thing in mind: the Void is at work again!
Recovering from his shock, Ash made an effort to run to town, only to be stopped by May grabbing on to his hand. "Wait, Ash, where are you going?"
Gritting his teeth, Ash tried shaking off May's hold on him. "What's it look like? I'm trying to-"
"Trying to what, Ash?" Zero asked, stepping forward and seizing Ash by the arm as well. "There's nothing you can do now. It's too late."
"No!" Ash shoved Zero off himself. "It's not too late, I have to save my mom, my Pokemon, my friends-"
Zero kept his cool, and grabbed Ash above the shoulders. "I told you, it's too late; we-"
Ash shoved him off again, and, losing his temper, whirled around to aim a punch at Zero's face. Zero wasn't able to move fast enough, and the morning air is disrupted by the unmistakable sound of flesh hitting metal.

-This is a shorter chapter than usual... But some important things will happen.
MH54: Empty Void
Cyrus' dimensional traveller began to move violently. "Oh, no, what's happening now?" he said, running to the side to inspect the malfunctioning machine. "And those two idiots weren't even here, how did this happen?!"
Just as he stepped up to the terminal did the machine blow up(non-lethal, and instead comical in a sense) in his face. Then the top hatch opened up, and so Cyrus, coughing from the smoke, rushed to the opening.
"What the-?" Cyrus, losing balance, fell backwards down to he floor with a loud thud. Three heads popped out of the opening of the hatch. Cyrus, through the smoke, recognized the ones with the blue and violet hairs: James and jessie, respectively. However, the third one, is completely new to him.
Cyrus stood back up, and made his way back to Jessie and James, ready to berate them. "What, are YOU two doing back here?" he said in between coughs. "And so soon?!"
"What?!" Jessie retorted. She stood up so abruptly that she almost bumped heads with Cyrus. "What do you mean, so soon? We've been already gone for two weeks, by my calendar! Isn't that right, James?"
James was rubbing his head as he stood up beside Jessie."Two- or three- who knows? I lost count..."
Cyrus glowered at the two of them, not realizing that the two of them were accompanied by somebody else. "And who is this?" he exclaimed, still not losing his temper. "Didn't I tell you two not to bring someone from another time and/or space?!"
"But you didn't tell us," James said. He turned to Jessie. "Did he, Jess?"
"I am not sure myself. However, there is only one way to find out," she replied, standing up and pointing her right arm high over her head, index finger pointed, "to the Internet! The stupid host probably got us archived, anyway!"
Cyrus, arms crossed, raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you forgetting something?" he asked dryly. "To introduce me to your friend, or kidnap victim, whichever's the case?"
"Well," James said, finally remembering to help his kidnap victim/guest to her feet. She is a little shorter than Jessie, but appears not to be very far from either Rocket's age. "Her name's Nina. She's with us because she's supposed to be looking for a friend of hers..."
Cyrus' eyes went as wide as platters when he saw, as the girl stood up, she brushed dust and soot from her short blonde hair and pink avian wings!
=====
"Aaahh..." Ash flinched, withdrawing his fist in pain. He went on his knees, still clutching his aching knuckles. Zero, on the other hand, remained standing. In the background, the strange sphere is gone, and so is Pallet Town. All that is left is a gaping crater the size of the town.
Max, May and Dawn quickly crowded around Ash, while Ryu and Fou-lu stood by Zero. "Oh, man, we're busted, aren't we?" Ryu asked.
"That depends on them," Fou-lu whispered back.
"What's wrong, Ash?"
Ash's hands were numb, and were turning red at the knuckles. He should be grateful, that the injuries weren't worse, and that Zero was keeping calm (Zero's a monster with his temper unleashed). Intense silence gripped the group, with Ash staring Zero down, getting angrier by the second.
"I- I feel like I hit a solid wall," Ash said through gritted teeth. He turned to Zero. "You're not human," he added, much to the shock of the others. "What are you?"
"Yep, we're totally busted," Fou-lu muttered.
"You're right, Ash, I'm not human," Zero said, stepping forward to the group. "And neither are my companions," he added, before Ryu and Fou-lu can stop him.
"Then what are you?!" Ash repeated, his temper increasing.
"I'm an android," Zero said slowly.
"Android?" Max echoed. "As in, a robot?"
Zero nodded. "As for my friends here," he said, jerking a thumb at Ryu and Fou-lu, "they're dragons; living, fire-breathing dragons." Fou-lu cleared his throat. "Well, one of them, at least, is a fire-breather..."
"Dragons?" Dawn asked.
"Yes," Fou-lu replied. "Dragons." He turned to Max. "Remember when I said that we met before? It was when that laser hit Lilycove City, sending tidal waves for miles. I was the one who brought you to shore when you were thrown overboard. Do you remember what I was then?"
Max's thoughts drifted to the memory, when he remembered himself being swallowed by a serpentine creature. "You mean, it was you-"
"I was around at the time. I'm sure that any of the interesting aquatic creatures of your world could have done the same, but I just can't leave you there."
Well, discovering the secret of their new friends drove a rift between the travelling group. It was not like Ash and friends suspect Zero and company of any wrongdoing, but it was Ash's new distrust that drove them apart. This was the case all through Route 1 and up to most of Viridian City, until they reached the branching paths of north and west.
As Zero and his companions prepared to go west, the others were ready to bid farewell to them. Ash, however, remained as far from them as possible, closer to the Viridian Forest route, still in a moody disposition.
"Well, this is our stop," Ryu said, general in speaking but specifically to Ash, who wasn't listening, however. "We'll be seeing you guys, I hope. And good luck in your, er-"
"Gym battles," Fou-lu muttered. "They're called gym battles."
"Whatever. Well, anyway, like I said, good luck, from all of us."
"Yeah, sure, whatever," was Ash's cold reply. He didn't even turn around to address them.
Zero stepped towards Ash, and attempted to put a hand on the latter's shoulder. "Listen. I know it's hard to lose something very important to you. But-"
"How would YOU know?" Ash snapped, staring Zero straight in the eye. "You're a robot; how would you feel if you lost someone close to you?!" After this retort, Ash turned in his heels, and ran in the direction of Viridian Forest.
"We're, we're sorry," May said to Zero. "But, we-" May couldn't find a word to finish her sentence, and instead ran after Ash. Dawn and Max closely followed.
"Hey, Zero," Ryu spoke up after they were gone. "You alright?"
'He doesn't know that I lost a lot in my life, too,' Zero thought, his eyes closed. opening them, he said out loud, "It's okay. We should let him have some space for a while. Someday we'll have to work with him in this whole crisis, but it's not like we can earn his trust as quickly.
"Come on, let's go. Mask should be waiting for our reports."
=====
"How many cities are taken now?"
Of course, Mask by now would have found out what happened to Cinnabar Island and Pallet Town. In his fortress' command center, he was now having all members of his organization(minus three certain "foreigners" who were still stranded) rush to the site of the incidents and investigate.
"Three cities are already taken in Johto, while Hoenn suffered with the same amount. Sinnoh seems unaffected, but we won't know for how long," the operator nearest Mask reported. He then ripped a readout being outputted off his computer. "We just got the analysis of the areas. Dark matter levels are in the high 90's, sir. No doubt that it is the Void's doing."
"I see. Continue with the investigation. Determine the casualty amount as well. And what about my agents?"
"The Trans Server is still in the fritz, sir. We can't pinpoint their location, let alone teleport them back here. We need an expert on this technology. It is from another world, after all..."
'It's a good thing that I gave them a map of the area, in case they ever get lost,' Mask thought. "I'll look into this myself. I can probably find an expert from the same world the Trans Server tech came from. Continue the analysis."
"Yes sir."
Mask went out of the command center. No sooner had he stepped out, did Norman confront him. The normally calm gym leader held the masked man by the scruff of his neck.
"Well?" Norman asked, fury in his voice. "Haven't you done anything yet?"
"I'm doing the best I can."
"Well, it's not enough. A human life is in danger here!"
Mask continues to calm down an enraged Norman, with little success. In another part of the fortress, in May's room... Caroline, Brock and Misty were all crowded around the bed, where someone with very pale, white skin lay, very motionless like whoever it is doesn't have a life of its own...
