If everyone in Pokemon knew of the fandom and their believes, would they be more or less likely to realize/confess their love? Lol, that kinda reminds me of an icon I saw one time...but that's off-topic. Hmm, this is an interesting question. It'd be hard to say, and would probably also depend a lot on a character's particular tendency to either want to tell or not tell in the first place. In other words, if May came across this Site and discovered that people were pairing her with Ash, who she (for the purposes of this discussion) already knows she has feelings for, then I could see it prompting her to just go ahead and tell him. However, in Ash's case, I can easily picture him seeing something like a fanart of him and May holding hands or kissing or something and being like "Huh?" about it. So I guess my overall answer is maybe, depending on the character in question.

I can respect that answer. I'd probably no, because if everyone in the show was aware of the fandom, Misty never would have left... O.O

I'll go with Cascade's answer. It would most likely encourage May to make a move knowing that there is a fanbase supporting her actions. Ash, on the other hand, would be clueless.

I'm staying neutral with this one, since both sides make sense.

Okay, here's a question.
If May were to confess her feelings for Ash right to his face, what do you think his initial reaction would be (assuming he does like her back)?

Ash would probably be surprised at first, and then say that he has feelings for her too. Then May would have to lead Ash through the relationship telling him what a boyfriend would do for his girlfriend.

Now on, he may not be that dense. After how many episodes dealt with love throughout the series, I'm sure he gets it by now.
He might be surprised, but then he'd say that he loves her too.

Eh, I'm not so sure he completley gets the entire concept of love and romantic emotions yet, but I do agree that at the same he probably isn't quite as dense about things as he used to be, either.
As for his reaction, I'm thinking that he'd probably want to talk about it or something, try to figure out exactly what May means so that he has a better understanding of the situation himself. And then, once she more or less makes him aware that the feelings she has for him are of the romantic nature, he'll probably realize that since he has the same kind of feelings for her, then they're also of the romantic nature as well. And then he can confess his feelings for her as well and it's a happy ending for both of them.

I think he would not know what to say. He wouldn't know how to react to that given his romantic history. That's really hard to answer since they have not really touched on Ash's romantic inclinations. If he got older I'm sure he'd be kicking himself at the missed opportunities with two cute girls and misty (i dont think she's attractive... dunno why). Let's say he was a teenager, I think he'd have those feelings, but like any typical Japanese teenager he'd be too shy to say anything or even hold hands or touch. Japanese junior high and senior high kids of opposite gender DO NOT TOUCH each other. AT ALL! The slightest touching or brushing of skin to skin contact... well that is a big deal to them.

^ Wow, I can't imagine someone being that shy. Huh.
Well, here's another question then:
If Advanceshipping were to ever become canon, would you rather the moment happen during an episode of the anime, or during one of the movies? (obviously, we're speaking in terms of May either being back in the cast, or having a cameo)

Hmmm... probably an episode, only because a movie seems too end of series-y to me.

I would have it happen in a movie. It just seems so much better than an average episode, and they stand out more.

I would have it happen in a movie. It just seems so much better than an average episode, and they stand out more. I completely agree with you on that one. Movies are obviously going to have a more dramaticized and climatic feel to them than just the regular t.v. episodes, and so if the ship were to be confirmed canon within one of the movies, then the scenario around it would probably have more build up to it (especially if say it happened at the end of the movie, not entirely unlike the ending to movie 5) except of course that it would be with an important character as opposed to just a 'character of the day'.

But movies are often argued to not be canon.

Not at the rate they seem to be going, looking at recent movies it seems that the movies might actualy be starting to tie into the episodes.
Using this, I choose a movie. Because by the time it would come out, I predict the characters would remember movie events, therefore, resulting in canon action taking place in the show...does that make sense?
