Does it have a future? As Mays Bulbasaur evolved into a Venusaur. And it would be pretty odd if the female in the relationship is 3x larger than the male, right? Discuss! (Sorry if this has been mentioned before already. If it has, please lock or delete. Or whatever. )

Well I don't think there's been another thread with this exact topic...
Either way, unless Ash's Bulbasaur decided to evolve just to be with May's and we just don't know about it yet, then I'm sorry to say that I don't really see much of a future for this ship.

I don't think that we've really gone into detail with this, but we have made a few notes in the Vineshipping thread.
The future of Vineshipping still has a possibility. Even though May's Venusaur is now fully evolved and (as far as we know) Ash still has a Bulbasaur there is still hope. Ash's Bulbasaur is mos likely able to evolve into Ivysaur at anytime it wishes and quite possibly even Venusaur as well. If they stay in the current forms that we know then the shipping has a good chance of dieing off. But if Bulbasaur wants to he can get up to a Venusaur as well, and even better if he does so just for May's Venusaur, then the shipping can still be easily viable.
Or even another example would be part of Zea's "You're not my Bulbasaur!". Ash's Bulbasaur evolved and May's shunned it for a while. If they did truly care for each other than evolution shouldn't be a barrier for those feelings.

But you never really know; their love could be so strong that not even different evolutionary stages could seperate them.

But....she's like...enormous compared to him. I mean, the feelings could still be there, sure, but they couldn't honestly be together because the size difference is just too great.

Can a Venusaur and a Bulbasaur have an egg in the game? (I think so...) And besides, in some species, there is a large size difference.

Well if you think that that size difference is odd, this one will make you think.
The largest difference in sizes of Pokemon that can actually breed is Wailord and Skitty. -shutters-
And yes Fiddler, they would still be able to have an egg together. As the above example shows in the games the only thing that matters for producing an egg is that they are in the same egg group.

Yeah, and who says that love = egg? That's not quite accurate.

And besides, in some species, there is a large size difference. Indeed. With many insect species, it is the female that is larger than the male. It could possibly be a similar instance here.

Yes, and that is what I believe.

But it's not the most accurate comparison for the 'saurs. They're not insects.

It was the same with T-Rexes.

vineshipping looks very dull at this point of time for me anyway. if Ash's bulbasaur evoled well that's a whole different matter but we all know that Ash's bulbsaur dosen't want to evolel yet.

It's a possibility. Ash's bulbasaur had a chance to evolve in the mysterious garden or W/E so I think Ash's Bulbasaur could evolve anytime it wanted. Poor Bulbasaur left out of the "Game of Love" I wonder what would happen?

I suppose it's only a matter of time. That's optimistic thinking on my part, but hey, I don' t see any impossibility involved. It just takes one plot "twist," and WHAMOO!
