Sorry, I actually meant for scenarios like this one: Maybe an elaborate story where Drew loves May, they go out, blah blah blah, falls off of a cliff. It would turn into Romeo and Juliet, except only Romeo dies. And that would make us look bad.

Not very descriptive, but I see what you're saying.
Something better than simply making Drew disappear would be to make him a perverted playboy villain, and have him arrested or something. That would insure that he does not become a martyr or swim around our heads disturbing our thoughts.

But...Ima not really keen on the 'Drew being a playboy' type of thing...I actually do think he would be a bit good to May. Ya know? We could add something in the story, maybe him caving in to something, making him cheat on May, and Ash would come, blah bla blah, in the end, May breaks up with drew and whatever else.
