Okay, so this will be a Pokemon adventure RPG about Dave and myself. It is set in the same universe as Spence's Pokemon Adventure 1, so we might run into his traveling party from time to time, or vice versa, who knows. Okay then, here goes...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sun was shining bright and warm through the trees as a young couple sat on a wooden bench on the outskirts of the woods. One half of the couple--a young woman with long blonde hair and very fair skin by the name of Miranda--was going over a map held spread open in her hands, her trusty Pokemon--a female Croagunk--sitting on the ground near her legs, simply gazing at her trainer as she tried to figure out which direction her travelling party should be heading in next, as they were coming from Jubilife City and heading for Sandgem Town.

Meanwhile, not too far away, a tall young man with messy brown hair and glasses stood in a clearing watching two large, reptilian Pokemon grapple with each other.
One had a long, slender and green body, starting with a head with a red throat-patch and cunning yellow eyes. This led past a back dotted with yellow seed-pods and nimble arms with twin, sword-like leaves jutting from them, showing how powerful this Pokemon was in close-quaters combat. The body of the creature ended with a red band around its midsection, followed by powerful, spring-like legs, suited to jumping, and a thick, spikey, fern-like tail.
It had hands and eyes locked with its opponent, a large, hulking, blue Pokemon. It was not dissimilar in appearence. However, this body was more suited for swimming, not for speed and jumping. It started from a long, thick snout, from which numerous teeth protruded, hinting at the wild, fierce nature the untamed members of its species displayed. Its nostrils and yellow eyes were set on top of its head, necessary for its aquatic lifestyle. Red, spikey crests led down it's back to its powerful tail, currently swishing with excitment during this battle. The claws on its sturdy hind-legs dug into the ground, not giving an inch to its opponent, as dangerous hands with equally sharp claws tried to gain the advantage. All over its body, thick scales were visible, a natural defense against any would-be adversaries.
The young man watched his Sceptile and Feraligatr closely. He had trained them well, they were this strong already, even without using attacks. Now to see what they could do.........

Miranda looked up from the map to watch the young man as he went about his training. She glanced down to see that her Croagunk had also turned it's attention to the scene as well. The blond smirked as the training truly commenced, because she always found it fun to watch such things even if she herself still had a bit to learn before becoming a truly powerful trainer.

A Salamence swooped down and landed near Miranda.
"Professor Rowan sent me to deliver a parcel, so here it is. I don't know what it is, so don't ask", and with that Boreale left.

Dave then started to issue orders to his Pokemon, intent on getting them powered up.
"Ok guys, break off and start dancing!" He yelled. Immediately, the two reptiles disengaged from each other and backed off. The Sceptile began slowly spinning, its arms crossed over its chest and the leaves on them glowing white. The Swords Dance would help focus its strength into these blades, powering up its attacks if delivered physically.
At the same time, Dave's Feraligatr also began moving in a slow, mystic way. It began focusing its energy within its muscles, allowing to not only hit harder, but to move faster. The Dragon Dance was known to only a few species of Pokemon, and this Feraligatr had been trained to use it flawlessly.
Once they had both powered up, they stood in a battle-stance, across from each other, ready to attack, awaiting their trainer's command.

Miranda continued to watch in amazement as Dave continued on with his training. She could only hope to be that good of a trainer herself one day. With a bit of half-shrug, half-sigh, she gave up on looking at the map altogether, instead folding it up and putting it away in her orange backpack. "It can't be helped." she mused aloud, before taking out a small yellow bean bag. "Wanna play hacky sack?" she said to her Croagunk, who simply stared back at her in response, to which she hastily added. "Hey, don't look at me like that!" When the Croagunk simply croaked back in response, she continued on, "I know I should be training but....." With a sigh, she sat back down on the bench, idly tossing the bean bag up and catching it with one hand as her eyes returned over to the scene of the training session.

"Well, Miranda, any luck with the map yet?" said a tall, lanky trainer, wearing sunglasses and a leather jacket with jeans and an AC/DC shirt. "I mean, with your BF in the middle of training, he's pretty much of no navigational use. Boy, this is one of those times that I wish I had a Pokegear, or at least get a Poketch with a GPS application..."

"Yeah, same here." Miranda replied with a sigh as she turned her attention to the sunglass-wearing trainer. "But oh well, it's no problem. I'm sure I'll figure out the way to Sandgem. Say, is that the way you're headed yourself?"

"Of course. Someone has to make sure you don't get too mushy. Heck, if you did what I've caught you two doing in public, you'll be blushing for more than one reason, if you know what I mean."

Miranda looked back at the trainer with a bit of a blank expression on her face. "Actually..." she said to him. "I don't know what you mean...seriously."

Ignoring any and all distractions behind him, Dave focused on his two Pokemon. Sceptile was crouched low to the ground, legs poised to jump away in any direction at a moment's notice, the leaves on its arms still glowing white from Swords Dance. Feraligatr, on the other hand, was reared up, claws and teeth bared at its adversary.
"Ok guys, Dragon Claw!" commanded Dave. The blades protruding from Sceptile's arms immediately changed hue, from white to a deep blue, a colour synonimous with Draconic Pokemon. Feraligatr's claws also turned this colour, slightly different to the rest of its body, while also growing in size due to the pent-up energy within.
Then, both Pokemon lunged foward. Blades clashed agianst claws as they fought for purchase over their opponent. Sceptile could use the twin blades on one arm to defend against Feraligatr's onslaught, before lunging foward with its other arm and set of leaves, to go on the offensive. Then Feraliagtr would be blocking hits with both its claws and thick scales while trying to find a way around to hit Sceptile. This would go on for a while, until the time came to practice other attacks.

"Shouldn't you know? I mean, you have been together for over half a year now! If you don't know this, people might as well successfully condone doing all that, 'adult stuff,' while not traveling alone. Seriously, do you want to be embarrased in public?"

"Uhm...." Miranda replied, before shaking her head slightly, still feeling uberly confused. "I....what? Whatever." The blond then took the map back out to try and successfuly plot a path on it, her Croagunk all the while snickering at the state of her confusion.

Oblivious to the nonsensical jabbering behind him, Dave stood, totally focused on his Pokemon.
He issued his next command. "Time to up the stakes guys! Leaf Blade and Ice Punch!"
The deep-blue glow on Sceptile's blades faded, being replaced with a green hue, lighter than the rest of its body. At the same time, Feraligatr's claws returned to their normal size and colour, before its fists bunched up, glowing with a blue-white, icy energy, while the air around steamed with water vapour as it condensed from the sheer coldness of the attack.
This would get dangerous. They were now using attacks that were super-effective against each other. They both adjusted positions, waiting to strike.........

"Meh..." Miranda said in a thoughtful tone as she took out a neon orange highlighter and began tracing over a path on the map. "Maybe we'll just head on out for Twinleaf then..." After having properly mapped out the path, the blond-haired trainer returned her highlighter to her bag and then folded up the map, before placing it into her bag as well and standing up. "Well, I'm off to the store," she called over to Dave, who was still training intensely with his Pokemon from what she could see. "To get supplies...and all..." Upon receiving no response, Miranda sighed, before motioning for her Croagunk to follow on after her as she made her way away from the woods and on toward the area of the general store.
