"Tell mw about it, Miranda." John spoke as he followed with Miranda, considering there was nothing else to do. "When he gets like this, unless he needs to go to a Pokemon Center, he's stuck there. He's even worse than I was when I was in my competitive rush."

"Touche." Miranda replied, continuing onward toward the store, John following to her right, and Croagunk following to her left. "Oh well, at least it gives me time to collect enough super potions and antidotes and food, etc." Miranda paused in front of the store, before opening up the old wooden door, jumping slightly at the sound of a small bell as the door opened up completely. "Hellooo?" she called out as she walked into the dimly lit room, the wooden floors creaking slightly beneath her boots. Upon receving no answer, the blonde trainer ventured on further toward the back, pausing when she heard a strange noise. "Hello?" she spoke aloud again, before turning back instinctively to find that her Croagunk was staring ahead strangely. "What's up?" she asked the poison type, who simply croaked in response. With a sigh, Miranda turned back around only to see a pair of strange, creepy eyes staring back at her.

"Don't even think about it, Miranda. Screaming is bad in this situation, so zip it if you want to get away without a hitch. Anyways... I'm wondering what that is. Maybe your Pokedex has something."

Miranda, who was indeed about to scream, closed her mouth, before shakily pulling out her pink-colored Pokedex. "Okay..." she said, opening it up as she pointed it toward the set up eyes. "Here goes..."
Sableye, the Dark-Ghost type Pokemon; It hides in the darkness of caves. Its diet of gems has transformed its eyes into gemstones.[/i]
"Ohh..." Miranda said with a bit of a sigh. "So it IS a Pokemon." She turned and shot a dirty look at her Croagunk as the Pokemon began snickering at her. "Excuse me?" said a strange voice suddenly. Miranda, John and Croagunk watched as from the shadowy back of the room, out stepped a young woman with pink colored hair, a small load of boxes in her arms. "Oh my," she said, speaking with a twangy sort of accent as she addressed Miranda and John. "I didn't quite realize I had customers up here in the front. My Sableye here--Joanna--is supposed to let me know when one walks in, but, I suppose she wanted to have a little fun of her own. Isn't that right, Joanna?" "Sableye!" the little purple Pokemon said with a bit of a chuckle to its voice, before scurrying down from the box it had been standing up on near the back. "Sableye?" it said questioningly as it walked right up to Croagunk, who simply stared at back at it. It was only a moment or so more before the two Pokemon were simply looking at each other, chuckling. Both Miranda and the pink-haired girl sighed apathetically at this, before the assumed shop owner spoke again. "Anyway, my name is Hayley," she said. "How can I help you?" "I just need to pick up some general supplies." Miranda answered, before looking back down at her Croagunk with a smirk as it continued to chuckle.

Meanwhile, back at the clearing............
The air steamed as a neon-blue fist swung through, on a path to a stationary green shape. As the fist, and the roaring, blue monstrosity to which it was attached, lunged towards it, Sceptile was suddenly not there.
The Big Jaw Pokemon looked around, confused, but not overly suprised at the speed his opponent had displayed. A cracking noise made him look up, before he suddenly dropped to the floor, rolling away just as a bright-green, humming blade swung where his throat had been. Sceptile landed, crouching to the ground. The branches in the trees surrounding the clearing hadn't been strong enough to support his weight for long, so he had to attack earlier. Now Feraligatr would know to watch the trees.
The green lizard lunged again, swiping with the razor-sharp leaves on his forearms. Feraligatr rolled to the side, judging the movements of his foe. Sceptile swung again, aiming for the legs of the crocodilian this time. Barely managing, Feraligatr managed to jump, and cleared the humming weapons. As Sceptile was caught off-balance, the blue creature recovered, and landed an Ice Punch onto one of the seeds on his back.

Miranda also took a box from the store owner as she, along with John helped her to prop them up against the wall behind the counter. "So what is it I can get for ya first?" Hayley questioned with a smile. "Hmm...." Miranda said, placing a forefinger to her chin as she glanced around the old-timey looking store. "How about some.......Skittles, instant coffee, sugar, ramen, paper, pens, first aid kit, cute little star stickers to decorate the first aid kit box with, a vase of flowers, super potions, antidotes, bug spray, box of matches, an instant camera, takeout menus, cherry soda, bubblegum, cakemix, annnnnd marshmallows." Miranda looked at Hayley as she finished reading off her mental list, to find the pink-haired girl looking back at her blankly. She herself blinked a couple times, before glancing over at John. "What?" she questioned. When he simply shrugged in responsed, Miranda turned back to the store owner and added, "So yeah, that's what I'll be needing today. Thank you!" "...No problem..." Hayley replied, before shaking her head slightly and starting to look around for the items from the list she had been given.

'Well, that was surprisingly long...' "Miranda, do we really need all that? I mean, why stickers? We should limit down to only necessities."

The forest around the clearing was suddenly filled with the screech of a Pokemon in immense pain.
Both Dave and Feraligatr were taken aback at the outburst from the Jungle Pokemon, the trainer clasping his hands over his ears, while the other creature staggered backwards in shock. This had been the perfect time for Sceptile to use his Screech attack, to catch the watery behemoth off-guard. With a flash of green, he darted past its stunned adversary, taking advantage of his lowered defense to deliver a strong blow with his Leaf Blade.
Feraligatr winced, as his strength gave out on one side where the attack had struck. Collapsing to his hand on the right side of his body, and taking a few deep breaths, he managed to stand up again, before turning to find Sceptile in a similarly injured condition.
The huge gecko Pokemon charged again, hoping for another swing with Leaf Blade, but Feraligatr jumped backwards at the last second, before lunging forward. Within seconds, he had the stuggling body of the grass-type pinned under his huge frame. He felt the teeth in his mouth go cold, and water-vapour poured out of his mouth when he exhaled, before leaning forward, moving the Ice Fang attack towards Sceptile's neck.......

"But..." Miranda began, a bit of a troubled look on her face. "I love the star stickers...they make the dull old First Aid Kit box soo pretty and unique and shiny!" When blank looks met Miranda's protests, she merely sighed heavily, before muttering something that sounded a lot like, 'Fine, forget the stickers...' to Hayley, who was already busy placing any number of potions and antidotes into a big, brown paper sack. With another sigh, the blond-haired trainer glanced back in the direction of her Croagunk, only to find that she was still conversing with the shop owner's Sableye. "They seem to be getting on well..." Hayley commented happily as she began filling up a sack full of food-type products. "Yeah, they really do." Miranda agreed, absent-mindedly picking up and looking at different packages of chewing gum as she did so. "Here," she finally said, chucking a small handful of green-wrappered gum into the nearest sack and gaining a questioning look from John, who stood nearby. "Add some spearmint gum in there as well."

"Stop." A voice commanded.
Feraligatr stopped dead, his colossal, icy jaws inches from the neck of the struggling Jungle Pokemon. Dave walked over to where the two creatures lay, one pinned by the other, before kneeling down, next to them.
"Good work, Feraligatr." He said. "Now, let him up."
The huge reptilian complied, stopping the Ice Fang and Punch attacks, and drawing back from Sceptile, standing tall, yet still wincing from the Leaf Blade attack. Sceptile slowly got to his feet, looking downcast at being overpowered.
"You did well Sceptile, Feraligatr just got the jump on you, that's all. I know you'll do better in your next battle." Said the trainer, putting his hand on the grass-type's shoulder.
Sceptile nodded, before getting to his feet, standing opposite his adversary, and extending one clawed hand. Feraligatr looked at it, before his own hand. The two friends and rivals shook, knowing that they would get stronger yet.
Dave walked back to his back on the bench, followed by his two Pokemon, taking out some Potion. He then sprayed Feraligatr's side, where the Leaf Blade had hit, and the seed on Sceptile's back that was hit with Ice Punch. The two reptilians winced slightly while the medicine took effect, before relaxing.
Dave then reached back and retrieved two small objects from his belt. He held one in each hand, before pressing a button and enlarging them. They were both spherical, had a white lower half and a black band around the middle, with a white button in the center. One was a plain red colour on top, a standard Pokeball, that Dave had recieved his Treecko from Professor Birch in the Hoenn region in. The other had a mottled, brown-and-green camouflage pattern on top, with which he had captured a rare and elusive Croconaw in the Pastoria Great Marsh. It was amazing what you could find if you looked deep enough in the marshes......
Pointing the devices at their respective Pokemon, Dave praised them, "Good work guys, you trained really hard, now have a rest. Return."
The Pokeball shot out a beam of red light at Sceptile, who was transformed into energy and returned therein. The Safari Ball sent out a pale green light to Feraligatr, who was likewise converted and withdrawn. Dave then minimised the balls, and reattached them to his belt.
He then sat down on the bench, noting the absence of his girlfriend, and sighed. What to do now.....?

Now chewing on a peice of gum, Miranda exited the old-timey looking shop, her arms laden with a large, brown paper sack. To her right, John walked along beside her, a paper bag in his arms as well. "Wait!" a voice called out, causing the two travellers, along with Croagunk, to stop in their tracks and turn back to look behind them. "Hayley?" Miranda questioned, raising her eyebrows slightly as the pink-haired shop owner came running up to her, her Sableye perched upon her shoulder. "Sorry," the girl said, pausing for a second to catch her breath, before continuing. "But I couldn't help but to keep thinking...your Croagunk and my Sableye got on so well...." The shop-owner looked away for a moment, before going on, "Well, I just figure, my Pokemon here's so playful, it probably just gets bored hanging around at the store with me all day...I was wondering, Miranda, would you mind taking my Sableye here along with you on your journies?" The blond trainer blinked a few times, feeling surprised and flattered by the offer. "Well," she finally answered, smiling. "I think that'd be a great idea." Grinning widely, the little purple Pokemon jumped from Hayley's shoulder, landing down atop Croagunk's head. Miranda, Hayley and John all laughed a bit at this, before Hayley finally outstretched her hand toward the Croagunk's trainer. "Well thank you," she said as she shook Miranda's hand. "For agreeing to take care of my Sableye." "No problem, I look forward to training her." the blond replied with a smile, before turning around and heading back to the place from whence she, Croagunk and John came. "Hey there Dave," she said with a smile, upon seeing her boyfriend now sitting down on the bench, having apparently retired from his training session. "We just picked up some supplies and stuff. We can head out now if you're ready."

Dave looked up at the sound of voices, smiling at the sight of his girlfriend, before standing up and moving over to her.
"Heya lass." he greeted her, before moving forwards and kissing Miranda briefly on the lips. "Well, I'm all set to go," he said, picking up his backpack containing his personal posessions, and slinging it over his shoulder. "Where're we off to? Sandgem? Back to Jubillife? I still wanna get over to the gym in Oreburgh City, to tell the truth."

"Well," Miranda replied, a bit of a pondering expression on her face as she looked back at Dave. "If you really want to head over toward Oreburgh City, then it's okay with me. I don't see why John would have any qualms about it either. Oh, but by the way..." The blond trainer then turned to the side, gesturing toward her Croagunk, who now had Sableye at it's side. "That's right, we have a new friend now added to our travelling party." she continued, reaching down to pat the purple Pokemon once on the head. "Oh well, the more the merrier. So anyway, yeah, if you want to go to Oreburgh City, then Oreburgh it is. Let me just get my map back out..."
