It has been a good several months since I released my Pokemon fan fiction. I was so surprised that it had accumulated to a total of 424 reviews for both "The Ridiculous Kind of Love" and "Advanced Love Battles". It might not look much to some but to me it was one of my greatest accomplishments.
But alas, when I released "Kamo!" and got only 102 reviews, it only meant one thing--my golden days are over.
It was a tough decision but I've decided to give up writing Advanceshipping fan fictions. After all, it's pretty useless if nobody's going to read them. "An Infatuated May: Skies over Gracemeria" will be my last Advanceshipping fan fiction before I completely disappear from writing stories. I'll also be deleting my account here in Advanceshipping Inc. on the 9th of March.
I realized, after realizing that there was only one active thread here in this forum and it didn't involve Advanceshipping at all, that this shipping was a lost cause. I know I'm in no position to say this but that's what I noticed after I joined the forums. This decision of mine has been no joke. You don't see me doing April Fools' jokes at any time of any year.
I would like to extend my utmost gratitude to those who liked and loved my fan fictions and supported them. You may say that your obligations in real life are more important than reading fan fictions on the Internet. Yes, I can understand that.
I don't know how some writers manage to acquire around 500 to 1000 reviews in a single fan fiction. But I don't want to know because I don't blame them for my sudden resignation. I can't believe this is...happening...*sniff*
To LuciferIX - your detailed reviews and chapter summaries have helped me analyze the flow of the story and made me go make the necessary adjustments. You've been one of my most loyal reviewers since "An Infatuated May: The Ridiculous Kind of Love" until "Kamo!" Thank you, Lucifer...wherever you are.
To Praetor of the Templar - we haven't got acquainted with ourselves since I believe you're the one responsible for adding all of my three previous Advanceshipping fan fictions in the C2 archive (if not, then it's okay; I make mistakes). Yes, it is an honor and I always see you in my alerts and favorites all the time. Thank you, Praetor...and long live Zeratul. XD
To Major Mike Powell III - it has been an honor serving you with my fan fictions, sir. I will carry on but I'm afraid not in FanFiction.Net anymore, sir. But I thank you sir for boosting my morale until now. Semper-fi! *salute*
To JaysonTheGreat - as a fellow Filipino, I would like to thank you for being my friend. I'm sorry if it had to end this way. Trust me, making this decision wasn't as easy as baking a cake. We'll still keep in touch with each other in my Yahoo! Messenger, don't worry. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! Mabuhay ang Advanceshipping! (Long live the Philippines! Long live Advanceshipping!)
To Riikani - I know you're a Contestshipper but I would like to thank you for your wonderful stories. It kept me entertained and gave me inspiration for my new stories. Yeah sure, you didn't leave a single review in my fan fictions. But it doesn't matter anymore.
To JDStormburstADV - Thank you for establishing the C2 archive. It had been such a privilege for all my Advanceshipping fan fictions to be included in the archive. This kind of honor was never present in my past works which all went horribly wrong. Don't let this get you down. Show the world about Advanceshipping and regain the lost glory.
To everybody else who supported me until this very moment of resignation but wasn't included in the list, thank you very much. I won't forget this. I don't know if you'll treat this either as a serious matter or a complete prank. But one thing is sure for me. I'll disappear for good after "An Infatuated May: Skies over Gracemeria" (see "The Brunette Carpet" for the story).

You don't have to LEAVE. I mean, sure it sucks that this board is no longer about Advanceshipping anymore, but hey, leaving due to lack of reviews is way overboard. Look at me: the most reviews I ever got on Fanfiction.net was 65. Come on! You're a really good member here!!

Reveiws...Dude you're f*cking insane. Reveiws are the stupidest things in the world. Fanficiton is not made for people to go and receive reveiws. Fanficiton is what you want to write and how. 120 reviews aint that bad, dude. Trust me, the most I've ever gotten is currently 68.
Also, so what if this board isn't lovesick with Advanceshipping. Boards are created so people can talk and have fun. And we all still like Advanceshipping, it's just that we've ran outa things to talk about.
You're acting like one of the spoiled n00bs in the Kiba FC at NF. Getting all pissy just cause we talk about what's going on in life instead of Kiba. Honestly, if you wanted us to be totally happy and jumpy and just plain enthusiastic about ADVS 24/7, then this was the wrong place for you're delusional mind.
I came here cause I liked ADVS, but I truely come to boards and forums to make friends and chill and just talk like normal people. And that's much easier when you have something like ADVS to tie you in with people.
So yea, good-bye. Have fun with you're life. I know Ima being mean, but hey, it's the truth.

If your main goal for writing fan fiction is to obtain reviews, then you probably shouldn't be writing fan fiction in the first place. People who truly love writing it don't care if they get one or one-million reviews--they do it because they enjoy writing and enjoy a particular fandom enough that they incorporate the two into a work of literature. If you're that wrapped up in the so-called fame of it, then it is a good idea for you to stop while you're ahead. People who only write for reviews give fan fiction writers a bad name. You aren't the first at this site we've had to deal with like this, and you might not be the last, but it's still the same matter of motive. Write because you love doing it, not because you love getting your ego inflated.

120 reviews for a Pokemon fic is fantastic. I only seen very few Poke fics top 500 and only one top 1000 reviews. When most start a Poke fic they don't even expect to top 100 reviews and if you do so then you are a great author. Pokemon has a large fanbase but it isn't Harry Potter, Naruto, or Inuyasha whose fics can top 1OO reviews very easily. Please don't quit, it's harder for a poke fic to get that many reviews and to top 100 frequently shows your skills as an author.

And that's much easier when you have something like ADVS to tie you in with people. So yea, good-bye. Have fun with you're life. I know Ima being mean, but hey, it's the truth. Triple QFT, but just so you know, remember that I hold you in the highest respect. One hundred twenty reviews really isn't that bad--no, scratch that; it is insanely good. If you think it really is bad, then you should look at Teching Cupid's Arrow, which only has fifteen. So it's either that I'm doing an incredibly terrible job with my own story or that you're doing a great job with yours. Don't give up just because the number of reviews is low. That's more of a rating as to how well your advertising is (or how convenient search engines are), and that's an arbitrary attribute. Anyone can go out to numerous sites and say, "Hey, I've written a story!" and get more hits/reviews. The number doesn't tell you how great your story is; only the opinions of said reviews do. If they're good, good on ya! That matters much more than number. Besides, you should also consider another variable--the number of chapters. Lengthwise, this is also arbitrary, but when it comes to reviews, it also makes sense because you can't really expect people to review the same chapters multiple times to make up for it in number. That would be rather unnecessary. Consider The Ridiculous Kind of Love, for instance: its review-to-chapter ratio is approximately 5.054. Also consider Advanced Love Battles: its review-to-chapter ratio is slightly higher, about 5.78. This averages out to about 5.42 reviews per chapter per story. Kamo!'s RTC ratio is lower, yes, but only by 28% of this average (about 3.923). Another thing you should consider is that since there aren't as many chapters, it's possible that extrapolation of these data would be slightly inaccurate due to variables that I won't get into because of their various natures and origins. My point is that of course you're not going to get as many reviews on Kamo! as you do on your other stories--the chapters are fewer; and thus, less chances are given to your readers to give a new, unique review for new chapters. Again, readers are not necessarily going to give multiple reviews on the same chapters just so the overall story review number increases. Trust me when I say that it's not as devastating as what you're making it out to be.

I'm fairly certain that I was upset that I only had one review for every chapter I posted (all from the same person), but the only reason I stopped was because there was a writer's block. FANFICS WERE NOT WRITTEN PURELY FOR REVIEWS. Seriously.

I'll pretend I didn't see this post. I'm very serious towards meanness. Listen guys, the past fics have been successful. But in case you haven't noticed, I've been on a slump since "Advanced Love Battles". I was barely hanging on. And what use would a story be if a few or nobody's going to read it? Don't you find it ironic if a fanfic has 1,000 hits but no reviews at all? Forgive me for doing so but... LISTEN HERE, PAL! I'm not saying that you should talk about ADV your entire life! Ever since I came to these boards, you kept on being so mean. This is just like what happened to my former forums. Those bastards made me so angry, the mods kicked me out! And I don't want that to happen here! Nah ah! Have you ever seen my non-Pokemon works? The highest of them is Lucky Star's "Kagami in the Rain". 28 reviews. That was then but this is now. I'm making a complete bull---- of myself, am I?

This is beyond pathetic.
Like srsly, your moving onto total n00bish status right now.
The point of fanfiction is to get your ideas out there, to be creative, to act as an individual and improve yourself. It's a good thing no one reviews your stories anymore because apparently your ego is big enough.
This is sick and twisted. Good to know our one and only n00b is gone. Oh, and btw, you spelled address wrong, dumbass.

Afraid of the truth? Cause that's what it is. The truth aint nice, and I am the truth. ;P
Ima not kicking you out. Stay for all I care. But you just keep spilling out crap like a total n00b. I know who I'll like and who I'll hate and who I just dont care about. And I knew you'd be one of those hot-shot fanfic writers who'll leave for some stupid reason. It's happened before. It'll happen again.
Good day to you, pal.

Again, the loss of only about a review and a half per chapter isn't that bad. For the second, for my non-Pokemon works, the highest (and only, currently >.> ) number I got is two, I think. ... Yeah, if that isn't low in comparison, I don't know what is. Just be thankful that you got any reviews at all. I am.
