I haven't read Twilight, so I can't compare...

What he said. Although, IMO, the Harry Potter series, at the very least, seems to be more well thought-out than the Twilight one. That said, for the adventure/fantasy genre, Harry Potter is one of the best, while as for the teen romance/fantasy genre, Twilight is one of the best. So it all depends on what you like to read, ultimately.

Harry Potter was great until book 4. And when I watched the movie, I couldn't take them seriously because they were British (I'm not even trying to be racist here!).
Twilight sucked until the last book.

The characters in the book were always British, they didn't just make them that way for the movie. And for the record, there is absolutely nothing wrong or off-putting about being British in the first place.

Most of the movies i watch star American or other nationality actors, but I don't hold it against them cos they talk funny.

What a coincidence, I couldn't take the movie serious after number three because they started sucking. But they don't suck. It's only because as the books they had to work with became longer, with more and more pages, it became more and more difficult for the screen writers to do decide what to keep and what to leave out, and how to peice it together so that some of the more important points are still left in, considering how intricately written the actual series is. For what they have to work with, I think that the Screen writers come up with awesome scripts for these movies. Vs. the books: of course the books win. Books always win. Within their own medium: the Harry Potter films are awesome.

Within their own medium: the Harry Potter films are awesome. Except for the damned 5th one. :zaru:

I don't watch that many British movies or anything, and in the books I always pictured them with an American accent (or whatever =p) And ANYWAY, I was probably five or something when I first watched the movie, so my lack of seriousness for Harry Potter sorta carried on. I don't really know why.

lol, I personally think the british accent is sexy for females.
The truth is l stopped reading HP at book 1 but not because I wasn't interested. My grandmother showed me a anti-Harry Potter video explaining how HP was demonic and went against God when I was little. She told me to literally rip the book apart and of course since I would never question my elders at that age I did as I was told. I never touched another HP book or watched the movies since watching that freaky movie...

lol, I personally think the british accent is sexy for females. So who wants to teach me how to speak in a british accent? :zaru: Woa, seriously? o.o My parents are religious, but they don't think books can be totally demonic or anything so I can basically read whatever I want.

Seriously.... my grandmother doesn't like fantasy in general, hell she used to think Pokemon and Yugioh was demonic... but now since I'm older, I found how ridiculous that movie was..
Thank God my grandmother is clueless as to what anime is...
