The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Its not the best written, but its still awesome.
In a world where the Greeks gods, monsters, and myths are all real, and the gods still regularly have children with mortals, we follow the story of Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, and his friends, Annabeth (daughter of Athena) and Grover (Satyr), as they try to recover something stolen from Zues to prevent a war.

I practically drool over ANYTHING by Sarah Dessen. She's just an all out AH-mazing author. I'm currently reading Lock and Key by her and it has inspired me to create a key necklace. EEP.

Well, there's always Wicked. It's a tale of how the Wicked Witch of the West came to be, and it also has a backstory for many other Oz characters as well, including Glinda and the Scarecrow and etc. So far it's really good, well written, and quite witty at times. Rather clever. I do recommend it.
