Any other characters from other media that would remind you of the pairing of Ash and May? Why do you think they remind you of Advanceshipping, or at least, just Ash and May individually? <I'd list mine, but it's rather quite obvious.

The Disney movie (that I was dragged into by my family) Enchanted. At first I objected to it, but it eventually paralleled Advanceshipping excellently.

Well, here they are, to get things started: -From Mega Man Zero: Zero: selfless, heroic, always there to protect those he cares for(cough*Ciel*cough). Ciel: a mother figure to all those around her, has a naive streak, constantly worries over Zero's welfare, and bursts into tears after his apparent death. -From Breath of Fire: *well, there are five incarnations of Ryu and Nina each for the five games, but generally their personalities are the same* Ryu: Ryu is much like what I mentioned above about Zero. In one case, he tried saving Nina from falling off a cliff, but finds out too late that she can fly, with comical results, ;D. Also, due to his origins in some of the games, he can be quite dense, . Nina: always bright and cheerful(mostly IV), and is quick to make friends with anyone, even someone as "dangerous" as Ryu. Also has a naive streak in most games.

Zero + Ryu = Ash
Ciel + Nina = May

Well I think the characters Odd and Aelita (Sorry, Code Lyoko is like the only other think I watch.) Odd is really adventures (sp?) like Ash. Aelita is like May because they both are sweet and all of the characters (meaning Ash, Odd, May and Aelita) would help their friend if they were in trouble.

William, and Elizabeth from Pirates of the Carrabean -I never watched the entire trilogy yet, so please tell me why. This isn't an order, it's a request. -I keep hearing about this anime(is it an anime?), and it really sounds something. I have to find out if and when it will be aired in the Philippines.

I never really watched too much of it and it isn't too bad, I just never really got too into it. But there are other people here that can give you a better review of it than I can. All I got is more general information.

Well, I consider Oban Star Racers anime, even though it's from France, so who care?

All I'm saying is that it isn't from the true definition of anime, I said nothing about them being worse than the originals. There are lookalikes coming from several countries, although I've only seen them from US and France, mostly trying to duplicate their success.
In fact the anime versions of American cartoons are better than the older cartoons, in fact its the older cartoons (based on slap-stick comedy) sometimes give anime a bad name. My parents still think that I should stop watching my "cartoons" because they are meant for little kids. Now I ask you this, do you really think shows like Blood+ and Death Note are for little kids?

William, and Elizabeth from Pirates of the Carrabean -I never watched the entire trilogy yet, so please tell me why. This isn't an order, it's a request. You just need to watch the first movie, and well, some of the things the characters say just fit in almost perfectly. i.e. (not all exact quotes, there all from memory) How Ash may feel How Ash's mind is foucused upon one thing and one thing alone, i.e. in this case May/Elizabeth an Ash and Drew raivalry? Dense just like Ash Will taught Elizabeth, like Ash tought May That and their backgrounds fit almost perfectly with Ash, and May. Just ask 4 more, I cna carry on all day

Ah the memories, I need to watch that again. But my DVD is at my parent's house. Oh well.
Great comparisons, you're right they fit pretty well together.
