Well, what are your favourite short stories?
I personally have a few but more than what I listed.
Namely, The Sniper[Liam O'Flaherty] Lamb to the Slaughter[Roald Dahl] On the Sidewalk, Bleeding[Evan Hunter]

The Sniper is good; I read it before and I liked it.
My favorite is, however, The Most Dangerous Game.

I'm actually reading a collection of short stories by Hans Christian Andersen, but I don't really have favorite per say. Love The Mermaid though (Also known as "The Little Mermaid"), Thumbelina, The Ugly Duckling...... Yeah, like all the "well known" ones.

Well, if Roald Dahl is included...
The Giraffe, the Pelly and Me. I LOVED that book when I was a kid, and its the Dahl book I most want to see made into a film.

There are a lot of short stories that I like, but my most favorite that I've read so far is "The Masque of the Red Death" by Edgar Allen Poe, probably because it really managed to freak me out and scare me.

i don't enjoy short stories, it doesn't give you the great plot that can be combusted in a novel like Eragon (love that book) it doesn't give you time to love the characters like a chapter based book does.
