If you were a Gym Leader, what type of Pokemon would you want to train? Which Pokemon of that type would you like to own? Do you think you'd be one of the later Gym leaders or one of the earlier ones? Why would you train that type? I would like to train Fire Pokemon. Mainly because I like how a lot of them look. My absolute favourite Fire Pokemon are the starters and if I had my way I'd train each of them, but if I could only pick one I would have to toss up between Charizard and Infernape. I like all Fire types so it'd be hard to pick. So definitely the starters that's for sure. If I had to have six: Charizard Blaziken Infernape Typhlosion Ninetales Magmortar Yeah Four Starters, there's not that many fire types to begin with, and I would pick the coolest ones of course!

Ouch, I'm not sure I could restrict myself to just one type...
I'm going to say Water though. Why? You have SEEN my name, yes? ;D
I think that water-types are cool, even though I've always chosen the grass starter in the games. There are so many water-types, more than any other, meaning that they have great variety. They are adaptable, and can learn many types of attacks to counter their weaknesses.
The fact that most of them are fish helps as well! ;D
If I were a Gym Leader, my squad of (possible) 6 would be: Feraligatr (It's a CROCODILE! You've got to love crocs!), Poliwrath (A buffed-up frog = awesomness!), Kingdra (Dragon, one of my other fave types, plus it's a giant seahorse), Lanturn (I eventually want to get into deep-sea reasearch, and this is an anglerfish), Swampert (It's a mudskipper, one of my fave fish),
And finally...
You guessed it!
RELICANTH! I am obsessed with Coelacanths, and this Pokemon fits the bill.

If I were a gym leader, I'd want to train grass type Pokemon. My only real basis for this is the fact that I adore grass types. But regardless, I'd want to have Leafeon, Breloom, and a Roselia. I'd also like my gym to be in Johto, more specifically, Goldenrod City.

That would be Dragon...hands down. These Pokemon are my favourite. I'd be stacked, if you ask me.
Dragonite Flygon Salamence Garchomp Altaria --non--
I'd most likely be the eighth gym leader or a tank elite. I love these Pokemon to pieces!

No Kingdra? Well I have one so I was torn between Dragon, Bug and Electric, but just decided to go with water in the end.

For some reason, I really dislike Kingdra, so...

Fighting for me, because not only is their Attack awesome, they also usually have a wide movepool. Here's what I'm thinking:
Gallade Primeape Hariyama Infernape Lucario Poliwrath
As you can probably see, I'll be able to access a very large moveset, even without TM's, and I got a lot of type weaknesses accounted for. I'd think I would actually be the final Elite 4 member before the Champion, and my Pokemon would be all level 60.

Its a hard choice for me between Psychic and Dark, but Psychic wins out in the end. There's just something about them that I love.
Making sure to include a few muti-type Psychics to keep the challengers on their toes (and because of the smaller list of total psychics).

I would also have to choose psychic, because it is the most flexible type of all. Dragon type would have been first if psychic is not so flexible.
With psychic pokemon, they can manipulate a shield in front of them using the ground, or crush the opposition using the psychic powers; there are more possibilities than I listed.
My favorite technique, so far, is by having the pokemon use its psychic power to send a wave of spikes through the ground to the enemy to impale them; a gruesome, I know, but effective strategy.

my dream would be the gym leader in my Soni Royale Fanifc "Noric" I love bug pokemon despite some of their main weaknesses. I'd like to rpve out to pokemon trainers that Bug pokemon aren't useless, because even though they've had a bad rep, i'd want to turn that around.
My Team: Forretress: Toxis spikes, spike, Swift, Swagger Scizor: Aerial Ace, U turn, Swords Dance, and Roost Vespiquen: Attack Order, Heal Order, Power Gem, Derfend Order Yanmega: Bug Buzz, Night slash, Ancientpower, Supersonic Heracross: Counter, Megahorn, Close combat, Endure Shuckle: Protect, Swagger, Toxic, Rest (Queen Lucy pwned me with her shuckle I undertsand i should learn from it)

Funny the first three people to vote in this picked the three types you can start with. ;D

Eevee-evolutions except Espeon.
What? I can only have six Pokemon. I just don't care for Espeon as much as the others (same with in my fic).
Dunno how I'd vote for the type though, so I just won't leave a vote.

ALthough I hate to choose one, I have to say Psychic, especially if it was in the anime. I think Raetor hit the nail on the head with what he said. Probably becaus eof the Templars he picked Psychic, am I right Praetor?
But if I could, I would pick a mixed group. I'd "Zerg" them with a bunch of Jr. Trainers with lv.25 bugs (only because they're vulnurable to so much, and almost anyone has a type that can counter bug), which is even more excelent because I'm the last Gym Leader with level 50's. Then, when they get to me with a team loaded with low level flyers, rocks, and fires, I counter with a mixed-type team. As we battle I laugh in their face and say: "HA! I am not as stupid as the rest of the Gym Leaders, I have a mixed team, twice as strong as my Jr. Trainers!"

^ Pretty clever way to trick gym challengers. Yes, Dark Fiddler, that is partially why I chose psychic.
I would have at least a metagross in my team, if I am a psychic type gym leader.

Dark fiddler i'd like to prove you wrong that bug pokemon are not weak as you make em out to be.
Just think, Forretress can set up a deadly field or toxic spikes, spikes, and then annoying your foe with Swagger will cause the trainer to switch out to stop the confusion. Then the spikes will take in effect. I can keep this up until all of my opponents pokemon are poisoned.
Scizor can raise his attack fast with Swords Dance. Roost will be there to assure he'll be in good health and then Areial ace will blow them away with the increased attack bonus from the Swords Dance. Then when scizor goes up against something he can't win i can switch him out with U-turn.
That's where shuckle comes in, first i use swagger, then toxic, than i protect myself with Protect when i think I'll need it. and when his health goes down i can use rest to reheal him.
Next would be Heracross, when someone uses a strong attack his endure will keep him in play as i use counter. Then take out the next with Megahorn (but i only expect him to survive for defeating one opponent.)
Yanmega will be my speed king, First i'll confuse them then strike hard with Night Slass or bug buzz.
Vespiquen will be the Grand Finale as She will raise her defense some and keep her in play with Heal Order. Then attack my enemy with Attack order or Power Gem.
Bug Pokemon are a threat but only if you know how to use them to their best
