Football really kicked off my social status (even if our record is 2-3) and I'm the funny guy in half of my classes. I've got a way with Black Chicks (not being racist in any way) and the Pep Rally was one of the most memorable moments in my entire life.
What about everyone else who is either in higfh school or is out (James of course)

For me, it's going well. Made some new friends, taking a programming and Web site design class, and I'm just moving forward. Turns out one of my programming classmates is an Advanceshipper, so I was geeking out about that. XD

I did, actually. I guess he considered joining. Maybe I should bring it up again sometime this week.

High School sucks. I guess I can blame that on our accelerated class; see, there are two classes which base on accelerating Math, Science, SOSE and English, and by the time we hit grade twelve we would already be studying an university course.
Apart from that, everything else is pretty good. I wouldn't consider myself popular or anything, I just get along great with everyone. Which kinda makes me worried about my speech for school captian tomorrow, 'cause I'll be lucky if anyone votes.

^ I'm in 11th grade and I'm already studying an university course. The classes that teach those courses are called AP (insert class here). AP stands for advanced placement.
Vurtax - It's almost the end of October and you just started school?
Anyways, I have to agree with Aficionada. High school is painful once you start taking AP classes.

^ Agreed. Term two was the worst ever. The problem is that the teacher expects you to cope well rather than going around and - I guess in a way - 'mothering' you with your school work. High school's way harder to adjust to when you've got tonnes of assignments and exams to worry about. Once I nearly gained a detention alone for 'forgetting' a filmsy piece of math homework. Fortunately it was trashed somewhere in my English book. >>;;
As for the name, there's really no special term for it here; well, not that I know of. Most of the time it's Advanced (subject) or Extension (subject). I'm glad, though, that electives are the same as other classes, though somehow we always seem to do better than core either way.

OMG. I soooo wanna kill my Math teacher. It's really annoying that your favourite subject just happens to have the worst teacher.
I was a tad bit surprised at her attitude this morning. She gave us this speech like she was actually human and she CARED for us.
"I'm so glad I had an opportunity teaching you guys. You've all got the potential to become great successful people one day.... [blah, blah, blah, blah, blah] ... Even if you choose not to continue this class, you will do just as well excelling in a core class and be just as successful.... [aand more blah's]"
See, we were discussing about life after grade nine and how this class might or might not be right depending on the person and their needs/commitments.
Sadly, I could tell she was sincere. Oo;;

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIGH SCHOOL!!! I'm actually popular with my classmates, a fact that was a dream for me in elementary school. Anyways, yeah, I'm a sophomore, and I just happen to have a full scholarship (YAY ME!!!). My classes are great, except for Geometry (I know by the end of the year, I'll hate proofs with a vengeance) and Chemistry Honors (its a bit of an effort to follow through with what's going on in class, but that's the teacher's fault).
Also, I'm hoping to get a grade good enough to get into AP American History next year, and who knows what other AP courses. But, I know I will perservere through, because I got.... I think over a 95 average right now. Who knows... I'll find out at the end of the first quarter.

^Proofs can actually be fun when you get the hang of them. But then again, this is coming from a nerd who sometimes does math for fun.

Proofs.... I didn't learn them yet, so I didn't see how to tell my teacher he was wrong when he proved 1=2... the math SEEMED right... Was he using division by zero? If so, then he was probably treating them as values rather than objects. >.>
