What I mean is, what Pokemon do you think were awesome in one media, while suckish in another.
For an example, I choose Croagunk. He is RAWR in the anime, but is kinda suckish in the games.

Pikachu - Ash's Pikachu is powerful in the show, but is absolutely useless in the game.

^ Erm, not really. Pikachu is one of the few 'Not Fully Evolved' Pokemon with movesets on Smogon, along with Scyther and Porygon2. This is because of the Light Ball, which doubles Pikachu's Attack and Special Attack stats, Effectively making it stronger than a Raichu. It gets Volt Tack, Nasty Plot and Grass Knot, so it's not really useless. Plus, Ash's Pikachu is one-of-a-kind, as noted by Team Rocket in Episode 2.
I'm gonna say Scizor, as it's depicted as really fast in the anime, but is fairly slow in the games. Base 55 Speed (i think).

But how often do you see a Pikachu in the competitive scene? Not very much...not that I've seen anyways.

Wasn't Ash's Pikachu illegally powered up before getting his first badge. You know, that hydro-electric power?

On Pikachu: I actually can use this guy pretty well. Even though I usually evolve my Pikachu's, I only level them up usually once they learn Thunder, and even if I didn't, I give them pretty mixed movepools, so I could even use one in the Elite 4.
And you know who's really ripped off: Tangela. It has one of the best evolutions, but I really do not see that many Tangela or Tangrowth ANYWHERE! And then, it's pretty good in the anime, but it's almost never seen.

U wannna know what's weird? All ripped off pokemon seem to have been ripped off in the transition to the game, never to the show. Except the Porygon Family

Charizard = Uber in the anime Charizard = Borderline in the game (Stone Edge = RIP)
Weezing = Good wall in the game Weezing = Suffered TR syndrome in the anime
Snake Pokemon - Need to be awesome in Game (arbok, ekans, seviper, dunsparce)

It seems as if everything gets a better view in the anime than the games (Well except for TR's Pokemon as James pointed out). The legendaries come to mind pretty quickly in that respect.
