The shipping wars will continue, but with less intensity. There will always be those stubborn shippers that will continue to hold on to their futile ships.

-Being a faithful follower of Digimon for all four seasons(haven't watched the 5th[Savers] yet), I can enlighten you guys. ...And I too, was shocked that the KIDS of the main characters from the original season replaced their parents as main characters. The main characters from the original series, which are adults now and have jobs, have only appeared every once in while in the show. -The kids of the main characters had one, and only one, appearance, and that was in Season 2's epilogue. That's it. They never became main characters in future seasons. Where in the world did you get that idea? As for the topic at hand, I think that following up ships must be left to the very end(or at least near the end) of the series. If they follow it up somewhere in between then and now, it would be a classic, and predictable, "jump the shark" move by writers.

For instance I still support the pairing of Harry and Hermonie despite it not being canon. Also even supporters of the canon pairings hate Deathly Hallows. It was poorly written has too many plot holes.

Wait, you're right. I thought I saw it on Wikipedia. It must have been a false memory or false information from Wikipedia.

It was never revealed, for SOME characters, who they married. The characters that hooked up were Yamato/Matt and Sora, and Yolei and Ken. It's been hinted throughout the latter half of Season 2(especially in the Christmas arc) that the former pair is canon, while the latter pair is just a growing crush on Yolei's part.

The point is, if Digimon married two main characters, will pokemon do the same too? With Ash and May?

we know pokemons gonna do that because digimon and pokemon have a grudge against each other and if their compentition included love pokemon would do the same thing probably

I don't know about a grudge, but I could easily see Pokemon ending with a flashfoward to who everyone ended up with, just as long as they don't actually do like they did with Digimon (*cough*MattxSora*cough*)

^ Yeah Matt and Sora is a canon-crack pairing in my opinion.

Although I don't exactly grasp the meaning of CRACK yet, I think I'm with James on this one. I'm a Taiora, BTW, thanks to Season 1.

Yeah, it's too bad that the first movie showed why they were driven apart. I think that was sad.

Yeah, it's too bad that the first movie showed why they were driven apart. I think that was sad. Which one are you talking about? The first American movie(which is a mash of three separate and unrelated[in the sense of continuity] movies) or the second original Digimon movie(the first being the prologue to the series)? In any case, if you're talking about the fight between Sora and Taichi during the Diaboromon incident, that's inconclusive. Sora forgave Taichi at the end of the movie(2nd original), and showed it by wearing the pin he gave her for her birthday. EDIT: That's a genuine "both"-sided Taiora hint, if you ask me!

I personally believe that there were enough Tai/Sora hints with or without the movies to deem them a pairing that was well on its way to becoming canon. As I've noted before, the whole sudden, "hey, lets make Sora like Matt instead" thing is far beyond my realms of comprehension. I mean, aside from the episode in which they established them as a pairing, there were no (to my memory) hints for them. The decision of the writers to pair them up at the end is still something that really bugs me to this day.
