I'll break this game's silence. The answer is Yanma.
My turnnn
This Pokemon's power was rather omnipotent in its first anime appearance as no Pokemon seemed to be able to stop it. It did not even use any proper game attacks when it battled.

Is it Mewtwo?

What you don't like Dryuu's picture game James? Its becoming almost as popular as this was, even if it slows down at times.
Although I would have to say that many of the legendaries are a little omnipotent whenever they show up. The only real time that a legend had lost is against another legend (with a couple exceptions). But I would say that Mewtwo is a good guess considering the he "suppressed all of the Pokemon's special abilities" during that final battle even while he was facing Mew.

Hint: This Pokemon is not legendary Matt, I have no idea what you're talking about with a picture game

Interesting that you haven't seen it, its one of the more popular threads right now. Check it out in the games section.
And come to think of it Mewtwo did just use Psychic on his debut. I'll have to say Dragonite, even if he was eventually defeated by Pikachu.

THANK GOD!!!! Someone finally got it! Yes, it was Yanma. If Yanmega evolves, then it will learn attacks earlier than Yanma does. Weird.
Hmmmmmmm........... Gyarados?

Sorry, it is not Gyarados, nor is it Dragonite.
Hint: This Pokemon, despite being non-Legendary was not defeated by any of Ash's Pokemon, not even his Pikachu. He couldn't even lay a finger on it.
It also did something to James and Brock in the episode it appeared.

Then is it Gastly?

Yeah, I reckon it's Gastly too.

Yes, Gastly is the correct answer. So it's your turn! Gastly used bizarre power to create a giant mousetrap to chase Pikachu, followed by a giant Fire Extinguisher to attack Charmander and then created a Venusaur and Blastoise to take care of Bulbasaur and Squirtle.

Okay, its my turn? I'm gonna suck at this, but here goes:
In the anime, Ash used this Pokemon in a gym battle even though he never actually captured it.

Sorry! Couldn't help myself!
Right then........
This Pokemon is based on a statue.
No research, as usual.
My opinion in 3 posts time.
Good luck!
