Yes the project was confirmed to continue shortly after the split of Bungie from Microsoft. Excecutive producer Peter Jackson and Director Neill Blomkamp will definetley are being put on high standards for the making of this movie
Luckily for us here is the first 8 minutes of the movie in the best quality i could find (however the first 3 minutes are credits)
Notice: THIS IS ONLY A PROTOTYPE RELEASED BY THE CREW TO SHOW BUNGIE WHAT THEY COULD DO. If it wasn't for this Bungie would've never agreed to fund Peter Jacksons Halo Project
Now from what i can understand in this scene, takes place shortly before Master Chief crash lands in the jungle. The brutes are attacking heavily around the position of the ark's activation center. The ODST (the marines with the visors) were to confirm Master Chief's position before they could E-vac while the other marines were already holding off and reatreating at the same time into a bunker fortress (which there are a lot of by the year 2553)
It's going to be rated R in America from what i know. And it'll release to theaters sometime around 2009

Those clips are from the live-action ads for Halo 3.
I'm not sure if that is an official trailer for the movie.

Gameinformer had an article when Bungie split with Microsoft (like i've stated before) that they confirmed they were going to properly fund Peter Jacksons Halo Project and the Halo Wars game. These first 8 minutes are only a prototype so we might not even see them in the movie. But this video was made to show what peter Jackson and Neil Blomkamp could do and its the reason why bungie agreed to the project
