Agreed. I wouldn't mind Dawn and May together with Ash and Brock. It would even out the genders, and I'm sure Dawn and May would have great battles while still being good friends.

Well, Max had no Pokemon...

He was close to having them, though. He made friends with a couple pokemon and even commanded a few of them.

But then again they never had two main characters with the same goal travel together. The closest they got was when Misty battled Ash in the water tournament over in the Whirl Islands. There is always the possibility that if one of them wins too often animosity would grow between them when one could go to the Grand Festival and the other didn't.
Then again all they would have to do is add more contests to even it out.

Having two main characters aiming towards a single goal might actually add to the plot. I doubt there will be any animosity between the characters. Look at Zoey and Dawn, they see each other often and they aim for the same goals, but there is no animosity between them.

But Zoey isn't a main character, she's only supporting. I do see where you are coming from though, the animators would just have to make sure that they do it correctly.

I think May will come back, maybe for a two parter episode like Misty did. I think most likely her Eevee will evolve into a Glaceon or a Leafeon to promote Sinnoh pokemon. But after that, she would leave. ...I dod wish the next group would consist of two girls and Satoshi. I mean, Brock is only there for the map, other than that, I don't think we need him...

Pretend Zoey is a main character; would that make a difference in how she sees Dawn now?

We swhould really get rid of Brock again and Team rocket for a while. The show is getting to repetive. Now get some old elements like that out and start something new. If May was to come back try something like her and Ash traveling together.

Get rid of Brock permanently like Misty? Or just give him an excursion?
Team Rocket does serve to advance the subplot in the episodes; so unless there is a good replacement, they won't be cut.
Yes, having Ash and May travel alone together like they did in the beginning of the Hoenn series would be best.

Well that is sadly only the opinion of an Advanceshipper to have them travel together. Poke and Pearl would probably say the same things.
But I think that getting rid of Brock and replacing it with May (who by now has learned how to cook) wouldn't be a bad idea. He has been with the show for too long, and Team Rocket could take a break as well. Because the things that Brock does for the group is cook, keep the arguments down and hold the map; besides those he is already at the point of a supporting character. Having just Ash, May and Dawn in a group would also prove to be very interesting. Especially if the girls have some argument and Ash has to chose a side. Oh the potential fun of a woman scorned.

I'm saying shelf Team Rocket for a while and give brock an excrusion like they did with the Orange islands. It would make them a breathe of old school as people would miss them as they are use to seeing them every episode.

I agree, giving Brock and Team Rocket a break wouldn't benefit the show.
