Well than that would fall under the topic of a new area wouldn't it?
I had my bases covered.
The main thing there is that she will return for one thing or another and the decision to go to the next region could be decided then.

If they do bring her back, I hope we see her either in her Emerald attire or something cool.

Filler region could be a new area like the Orange Islands before Johto, but after Kanto. Or it could be revisiting a region like the Battle Frontier.

^ There's the area that you can only explore after you defeat the Elite Four and Cynthia. Maybe he'll go there. If he does, then I doubt May will reunite with him there... It'd probably still be Brock and Dawn traveling with him. If you look at the Johto page on Bulbapedia: bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/JohtoAt the very bottom of the page there is a title that says 'Reappearance?' If they do bring out remakes of the G/S/C games, you can bet that Ash might travel there to reflect it, which means there's a higher chance of reuniting with May! But this is only speculation on my part.

If Ash goes to the Fight Area, then he won't meet May until the fifth generation region, because May would be in the mainland of Sinnoh.
Well, not quite James, Ash might be finished in Sinnoh at approximately the same time May finishes in Johto, then May would go to Sinnoh, while Ash goes to Johto. This means that they still won't see each other; until the fifth generation.

Like I said, I'm just speculating. Also don't forget just how loooooooong it took Ash to get through Johto

And considering that it was always Brock or Max that controlled the map it might take May even longer to get through Johto than Ash did. But then again there is still the deadline of the Grand Festival.

It looks like it's taking Ash a long time in Sinnoh too. So far, in the dub, Ash has only two badges.

And in the original raw is in the process of getting his third badge. So he definitly isn't far at all. At least he's caught 5 new pokemon by this point. I think its better than when he was in Hoenn.

Hoenn, I think, went by a lot faster; maybe a couple badges ahead by now.

- As it stands he has a full team of pokemon, only one has evolved once so far (Staravia). Only one Pokemon evolved the whole time he was in Johto (Bayleef). - He has won two gym badges, one of which he had to have a rematch (against Roark). - This Thursday he will battle against Maylene's team of Meditite, Machoke and Lucario with Staravia, Chimchar and Buizel. - Dawn has only won one official ribbon so far. Yup, we've got a long way to go.

Anyone dare guess approximately how long Sinnoh is going to take?

^ too long.
but May dose have three options in her reappearence. - watching Ash on T.V. like misty did in the Hoenn championships. - Coming to visit Ash for whatever reason - and when Ash goes back to Pallet town at the end of his journey.
I ppersonally don't see any other way unless the writers come up with a new way (as they do)

There is always the chance to meet her at Oak's Lab, that is where their loversaurs are. And maybe... an egg?

^ That's probably why May would visit Ash; other than an ulterior motive.
