I believe that it would all be wireless. First, does your router put out a wireless signal? If it does you should just be able to connect through that.

I don't have to connect through the phone line. It's high speed broadband network but i need to know the name of the cable!

I'm not saying that you are using dial-up. I was asking if your router put out a wireless network or if it just was splitting the signal from the modem.
There is no cable for it. The DS is completely wireless, the only ports are the AC Adapter and the mini stereo plug. But if you're talking about the cable for the router then it would most likely be Ethernet.

There's a way you can check. Start up Pokemon D/P, get past the title screen, and select "Nintendo WFC Settings"
Then select the big blue box, and then Connection 1, 2 or 5 (three sir!) 3. It should be easy from there on. If you have a wireless router, it should automatically connect.
If it doesn't, you may need to ask your parents / whoever knows about the router.
When you're sorted, fancy a battle? I'm itching for a new challenger. ;D
And I even threw in a little Monty Python reference for you! How kind am I?
EDIT: It just occured to me that we're a bit unbalanced here. We need girls! Not like that though...
If any of the girls on here fancy taking part so that it's a little less male-dominated, please post!

Alright i have Linksys and i tried my WFC settings but I'm still not connecting. It tells me that Linksys routers are compatible with the DS but it's not responding and popping up Error 50199. I typed in the Error ID at Nintendo Tech support but i'm not getting anywhere else really.
GOSH WHY DO THEY MAKE THIS SO HARD!!!
Edit: Scratch that, somehow i have the Linksys that is not compatible with the DS Wi/Fi connection. GOSH!!!!!

Ah, that's the problem I have at home. It's the security settings. Ask whoever knows about it if they can alter the security settings for you.
I know exactly what you mean. Talk about a pain in the arse!

We need to be more diverse. We can't make Advanceshipping look like it appeals to guys only. I think you guys left out a few important details: 1. Vurtax, your adapter MUST be able to support wi-fi. 2. To be on wi-fi, you must be no farther than 30 ft. from the adapter. 3. Enter in your IP address and WEP key IF your DS does not do it by itself. 4. If you see green bars in the connection box in the DS screen, but you still can't access wi-fi, it means that your SECURITY MUST BE IN THE WAY. (Like what Dave said)

Well guys, you have the PM button, go ahead and ask some of the lovely ladies on this board if they want to raise a couple of pokemon like mad and battle people online. You can get a special LAN adapter but I don;t know if they're any good, they're not made by Nintendo. Better to get the nintendo wi-fi adaptor for your DS. If you have a Wii, it works for that too.

Good idea James! I think I'll do that... at some point...
The USB thing won't work. I tried it, the security settings still block it. Mine only works at Uni cos I actually plug a cable into a wall, it isn't wireless.

1000th post! ;D I had trouble adjusting my security settings too, but luckily, my cousin helped out. I think that the reason most girls don't battle as much is because they don't have as much battle prowess as most of the guys. Nah i'm not that stupid, i know shuckle doesn't have the power to attack strong at all, so i dveloped a method for him to attack without directly attacking (if you know what i mean) but i don't wanna spoil it so i'm not telling y'all As for venomoth, i guess i could, probably yamega than. Let me guess, toxic and detect and protect?

Little bit of sexism there man. Congrats on the promotion though. No more stars for you!
The only girls who seem to be here regularly are Lara and Ally, so I'll probs PM them about it at some point.
I think the Shuckle will have: Toxic, Wrap, Sandstorm and Rest. The most annoying Shuckle moveset possible.

Actually I think that they don't make the official Nintendo ones anymore. Some type of lawsuit I believe with the company that made them. I think the Shuckle will have: Toxic, Wrap, Sandstorm and Rest. The most annoying Shuckle moveset possible. Actually I know of worse.
