It is embarrassment of not having something in return.
Same modest, undeserving feeling applies to Delia, but for a different reason.
After not seeing Ash, in the flesh, for a long period of time, it would be natural that Delia would pay more attention to her son than to May.

It is embarrassment of not having something in return. Same modest, undeserving feeling applies to Delia, but for a different reason. That didn't make sense... Emabrrasment, and Delias feelings at the time. After Johto... didn't happen After B/F.... didn't happen and Dalia even said 'I'm so glad Ash has such great freinds' with an extended meaning put onto it (the show barely dose thoughts spoken out loud), as you must realise how May didn't even know that here were contests there. Delia noted how his freinds would follow him, with an exception to May. The reason for the blush/direct look towards them. As well as how May journied all by her self from Hoenn to Kanto to see him, at his house.

Well, sometimes parents look how much their children have grown, and for some strange reason become embarrassed over it.
Ash was still a little boy back then...
I'm pretty much run to the ground here...

Okay, I’m 99% sure you’re talking about the episode “The Right Place and the Right Mime’’. I happen to have Pokemon: Advanced, Advanced Challenge, and Advanced Battle on DVD, so I just went and watched the episode, and here is what happened pertaining to when Delia blushes:
Everyone is sitting around in the living room, and Ash has just told May about the Battle Frontier in Kanto. At this, Delia blushes, makes some sort of half-giggle like noise, and thinks (and I quote): “Planning his next journey already…”
And then Delia tells Ash about the fact that May already mentioned how she’d like to enter the Pokemon Contests held over in the Kanto region, and Professors Oak and Birch make a comment about how that’d be really good for her to do, since she has Hoenn Pokemon with her and all, and anyway, May says that she’s excited at the thought of doing the contests, and Ash says: “So May, if that’s what you’re gonna do, then do you wanna travel with us?” She says, “Sure Ash, I’d love to!” Ash replies, “We leave first thing tomorrow morning, okay?”
May says “Mhmm.” and then it goes back over to Delia, who looks just a bit startled to hear this, and she thinks: “What? They’re leaving so soon?” She then blushes a second time, and thinks, “I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised anymore.”
So, she isn’t really blushing about how closely together Ash and May are sitting, but to me, the fact that they’re sitting that closely together in the first place is good enough of a hint, not to mention the fact that May responded with ’’I’d love to!” Anyway, I hope that that’s all cleared up now.

Thanks cascade, that's cleared things up a lot. ^^ Well, sometimes parents look how much their children have grown, and for some strange reason become embarrassed over it. Ash was still a little boy back then... B/f was after, and Johto was before. We gotta find someone else to argue, I gues I could try. But It's too hard So far you've done a great job (something I just can't find myself doin'

Unfortunately, we're still not done "processing" this hint yet. The problems are apparent in the text that Cascade generously provided. Okay, I’m 99% sure you’re talking about the episode “The Right Place and the Right Mime’’. I happen to have Pokemon: Advanced, Advanced Challenge, and Advanced Battle on DVD, so I just went and watched the episode, and here is what happened pertaining to when Delia blushes: Everyone is sitting around in the living room, and Ash has just told May about the Battle Frontier in Kanto. Delia seems to be just thinking about Ash's adventure, not May. 2. “What? They’re leaving so soon?” She then blushes a second time, and thinks, “I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised anymore.” Delia seems to be thinking about Ash's maturity; and once again, not May. So, we need to work these problems out.

It dosn't change the fact that they havn't done this ever befor. or even with the previous, and region after. It was only that one.
and she thought, before it happened.
Tough her thought wasn't actually voiced out.

That one time that she blushed was when she was thinking about Ash and his adventure.

Wow, this is intense.
Well, I don't have much to contribute since my Pokemon anime watching has only gone to somewhere in Season 4, which then school started and I couldn't watch anymore.
I just read the hints on Bulbapedia and eat them up.
I say, just use your imaginations. =P

Wait, since when was Ash and May sitting together considered a hint? You could be sitting next to your best friend and not have any romantic feelings towards them at all. I don't know why sitting together would be considered an official hint of any kind. Um, I wanted to say, even though I'm new here, I'd love to volunteer to be the one arguing against advanceshipping, well, not love, but in order to keep the debate going, I can do it

^ Keep in mind that these debates can get intense.
I just realized something.
Delia blushes at the thought of Ash AND May traveling together; not just Ash. Her last thought suggests that Ash has matured. The fact that she thinks about Ash and May traveling together and blushes over Ash's maturity would show that she thinks of Ash and May as a couple.
Even though she may not be consciously thinking about it, the close distance between Ash and May serves as an unconscious visual aid for thought of Ash and May as a couple. Factor in the fact that they are on very friendly terms with each other, then it further proves my point.

I don't know why sitting together would be considered an official hint of any kind. As Praetor already said the hint isn't a hint just because May and Ash are sitting next to each other. We aren't that desperate for hints... Its from Delia's thoughts and reactions to the matter that elevates it to hint status. Nice to see that some of the old threads are getting a little bit of life breathed into them.

Well, not to be negative, but I really think (imo) that Delia was just blushing at the realization of how quickly her son was ready to get going after only like maybe a day of being back home. I could be wrong, and maybe I am, but it just didn't seem to me like her blushing had much of anything to do with May being there, even though she did say "they're" rather than "he's" leaving already.

If Delia was really thinking about only Ash in her second blush, then she would certainly use "he", instead of "they"; just as she did in the first blush.
